Today we’d like to introduce you to International Kool.
Hi International Kool; so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I briefly moved down south to Austin, Texas, before relocating to Dallas Metropolitan! I’d eventually attend the University of Houston for Marketing and Public Relations! I was an Orientation Leader on Campus, which led to my influence in the collegiate life. I’d then become one of the hottest promoters of Houston, TX, under the age of 21! I promoted several events at many Houston Venues and had supporting celebrity acts attend my parties, including Lil Wayne, Jim Jones, Trae ABN, and many more. I kept my momentum going and moved to New York City, working with Warner Brother Music Group affiliate record label Atlantic Records allowing me to network and interview many big-name artists in the Hip Hop Industry. I opened a trendy barbershop in Los Angeles, providing Hair services to many hip-hop artists and entertainers. Utilizing my networks and incredible marketing mindset, I’ve been able to work with major Fortune 500 companies, celebrities, and athletes has given my music career a lot of momentum because of my personal experiences in the entertainment industry and education. I will continue to make music and network with people to bring all my business ventures to fruition.
Please talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned. Looking back, has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Coping with my family losses, personal setbacks, and balancing fatherhood is no easy task! It hasn’t been a smooth road at all! I’ve battled depression and mental health throughout my journey! I struggled with anger and anxiety and even took professional advice in psychotherapy! I learned, “I’m the father of my faith and creator of my destiny,” so I responsibly sought the care and advice to help me overcome the person I am today! I even started a business venture between a famous hat company, Goorin Bros, and a nonprofit suicide awareness program advocating for men standing up to depression with fashion.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a traveling influencer and urban marketing guru! I have been to over 20 countries and more than 40 states in the US! I’ve worked with many notable celebrities, entertainers, and athletes throughout my career as a marketer and music artist! I believe that’s what makes me successful! I’ve established so many professional networks throughout the years! My access to so many different ventures allows me to be creative and formulate music/events no other artists can without major record label assistance.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory was living in Germany and attending Wurzburg American Middle School! Even though I attended a military school, I lived off-base and participated in many local events! That is where I met a Texas Icon, Dirk Nowitzki, playing basketball before ever entering the NBA!
