Today we’d like to introduce you to Bee & Mac McAnally, aka Venus Loves Mars.
Hi Bee & Mac, Thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Greetings from Venus Loves Mars. We are an Indie, Americana Rock duo from Austin,Texas. Bee plays the drums and I play the guitar. We both sing lead vocals. We are DIY meaning we aren’t signed to a label and we write, produce, record and perform original music.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Where the music business has rules and obstacles, our music and live shows have an energy that connects us directly with our audience.
Let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We recently recorded our debut album ‘VLM4EVER’ at Leche House recording studio in Buda, Texas with Grammy award winner producer Beto Martinez from Grupo Fantasma and Caramelo Haze. This album is an homage to our relationship spanning nearly three decades as best friends, band mates and our marriage.
How do you think about luck?
We live in an era of entrepreneurs, and artists are expected to hustle, work hard and know the dynamics of how a business works to be a success.
