Today we’d like to introduce you to Phylicia Teymer.
Hi Phylicia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
As a native midwesterner and Austin, Texas area transplant, my appreciation for nature-based experiences originally stemmed from my father’s love for outdoor experiences — and, for me, how the outdoors became a haven for healing after traumatic early childhood and an unexpected journey to motherhood experiences. After 12+ years of navigating corporate America in roles primarily spanning the marketing field in the big tech industry, I faced a large “wake-up and re-assess” call when our son was born 4 months early at a mere 1 lb 11 oz. We navigated the harrowing but miraculous NICU survival journey, gaining a deeper understanding of the need for collaborative community and organizational support systems for fostering greater overall well-being during life’s hardships and transitional life phases. Through noticing the progress and existing gaps and challenges for families, mothers, and numerous populations along with growing environmental impacts — coupled with post-pandemic reports showing increasing health concerns stemming from digital overstimulation, burn-out, and loneliness driving higher rates of anxiety and depression in children and adults — I wanted to help create a solution. This led to developing our services, which are focused on empowering the well-being, connection, and growth of families, individuals, and organizations – in partnership with nature – for the greater sustainability of our communities and environment. At Inner North Outer Experiences, we offer a variety of experiences — including our nature-based exploratory adventures for a fun and engaging way to learn and foster curiosity, & community – such as our Nature Expeditions for Young Adventurers and Families (including potential mini spring & summer nature camps), our Mindfulness in Nature meditative sensory experiences via practicing Shinrin-Yoku among our essential services. We are currently exploring ways to digitize our experiential learning to help parents and educators create memorable nature-based experiences for their families and classes across the U.S. If you’re in Austin and surrounding areas, join us for our Nature Expeditions for Young Adventurers and Families, our seasonal mini nature camps or one of our mindfulness in nature experiences — and if you’re outside of the area, stay tuned, as we ramp our ways to reach you. We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Entrepreneurship has proven to be an ongoing adventure of solving challenges — I’ve bootstrapped through self-funding for our nature-based learning & well-being experiences. Our upcoming opportunities will be in reaching families in our local communities, continuing to gain their feedback, securing value/mission/objective-aligned collaborations, and exploring fundraising to help finance a concept to help bring our unique nature-based exploratory learning experiences to families across the U.S. If you are open to mentoring a new business owner as an entrepreneur or angel investor — I would greatly value connecting.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about Inner North Outer Experiences LLC?

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was adventurous and typically engaging in outdoor, academic, and community-based activities in addition to multiple sports, including lettering in track, basketball, and cross-country, and excelling in academics which continued into college, where I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts degree in Media Studies (Mass Communications) with a distributive minor in Sociology and Psychology with Summa Cum Laude honors. I’m grateful for my parents, teachers, mentors, community programs, and their facilitators and supporters, who aided me and others in our educational pursuits.
