Hi Patrick, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, you could tell our readers some of your backstory.
I grew up in a construction family and started plumbing in 2008 with the encouragement of another master plumber who saw a talent for the trade. In 2019, I opened the plumbing division of my family’s construction business. When the 2020 lockdowns paused the construction business, I did plumbing full-time.
It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been relatively smooth so far?
One of the significant challenges I’ve faced in my journey relates to my dyslexia, especially during exams. This condition can make the extensive reading required quite daunting, sometimes overshadowing my confidence in executing the physical tasks. However, this struggle has been a powerful catalyst for growth. I’ve developed a suite of strategies to manage and mitigate these challenges. This process has improved my ability to handle academic and professional tasks and enhanced my perseverance, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. Overcoming these hurdles has instilled a strong sense of resilience in me, which is a vital asset in any professional setting.
