Exploring Life & Business with Bridgette Parent of Soul-Hive

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bridgette Parent

Hi Bridgette, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
After 15 intense years in marketing and management roles with big companies, such as American Airlines and Travelzoo, I was ready for a change. I kept feeling like I was just going through the motions, but I knew in my heart that there was something more. One day, I finally got the courage to cut the so-called “golden handcuffs” in pursuit of something genuinely meaningful.

It all started in 2011 when sitting at the airport after another unfulfilling sales meeting waiting alone for my flight (as was so often part of my corporate life) when I received an email from Martha Beck. It said simply, “Are you looking for something more?” I literally felt like screaming “YES” right there out loud in front of everyone. Although I had read many of Martha Beck’s articles in “O” – The Oprah Magazine, this was the first time I had heard of her Life Coach training, and it couldn’t have appeared to me at a better time. (There are no coincidences, right?!)

Without hesitation, I signed up for this unbelievably life-changing experience. Nine months later, I graduated from Martha Beck’s Life Coaching Institute and finally started what felt like my true path in life.

After graduating from the Martha Beck Institute, I had become friends with some of the most incredible, inspiring women I had ever met. I started finding my true soul tribe (people who were trying to make sense of lots of unexplainable metaphysical experiences like me) and was called to attend the Intuitive Arts Studio to study with an intuitive genius, Beverly Belling. After an enlightening few years, I graduated as a Certified Energy Reader and now enjoy tapping deeply into my client’s energy to help them in the most direct, compassionate, and effective way possible.

On the whole, I wanted to create a space for people to find a deeper purpose in their day-to-day lives, a joyful existence they could actually sustain. So, in 2013, I founded Soul-Hive, offering life coaching and soul guidance, helping clients get out of their own way so they could experience more meaning and joy on a daily basis. I believe everyone has all the answers inside of them, and sometimes we just need a compassionate mirror to help us see them. My approach is authentic, productive, and relatable, delivering customized coaching programs to meet the individual needs of each client. My goal is to provide clients with clarity, healing, and genuine confidence.

In addition to coaching, I also offer labyrinth meditations and healing circles, as well as private mentoring sessions, group workshops, metaphysical classes, breathwork meditations, and spiritual retreats.

I feel like I was liberated from an unfulfilled life, and now I am so excited to spend my days helping other people dig deep to find their right life and make it a reality…all while having a ton of fun along the way!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Well… at the tender young age of 38, I became a brand-new mom the same year I started my Life Coaching business. I was learning to juggle all the things and figure out a whole new way of operating as a working mom. But I was super grateful to have a flexible work schedule as baby #2 followed 2 years later. I made a conscious decision to stay at home and be truly present for those early years with the kiddos, and I’m so glad I did.

However, that did mean a slow start for Soul-Hive. I allowed the business to grow organically and simply took on a few clients at a time. I thought once the kids were in school full-time that’s when I’d dive back in wholeheartedly. But then an international pandemic came in with other plans. So, I became a stay-at-home mom, schoolteacher, and life coach simultaneously. There were a lot of balls that got dropped during those years.

But eventually, the world resurfaced, and I got back on track. I started partnering with a good friend, hosting in-person spiritual retreats and workshops and felt so alive again. It has been wonderful. Especially the breathwork! That’s one of my very favorite things to facilitate because they’re so incredibly powerful, but obviously, nobody wanted to come and breathe in a crowded room during covid. So that was so exciting once I could start offering those again.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The name Soul-Hive came to me very clearly one day. It represented a departure from the guru model, where everyone revered one mighty person at the top. That model just didn’t feel right to me. With Soul-Hive, there are no hierarchies. Everyone is vibrating together to create a harmonic frequency for the benefit of all. That’s what I hope people can feel when they work with me. Everyone has something special and important that we bring to the table. Most people just need to be seen for who they are by a trusted witness who can hold up a mirror to their brilliance. That’s why I absolutely love my one-on-one sessions. Whether it’s coaching or an intuitive reading, my clients leave feeling truly seen, with a new-found trust in their own wisdom.

Aside from coaching and retreats, people tend to really love my breathwork meditations. This isn’t your average meditation. It’s a full-hour journey that can open you up to a whole new world. Many have compared it to a plant medicine journey, like ayahuasca or ketamine. But there’s no substance needed with my sessions. I set up a very intentional space and create an environment that allows people the freedom and trust to go as deep as their soul is willing to take them. I’ve had people say they got more from my one-hour breathwork session than 20 years in therapy. I’ve seen kundalini activations, trauma release, ecstatic joy, visitors from the other side, you name it. There’s something for everyone with this type of deep soul breathwork.

Something that has become very important to me is building conscious community. That’s why I created a Facebook group called the “Spiritual Seekers of Austin” in 2018. We now have close to 2,000 members sharing personal reflections, inspirations, and offerings, keeping us connected in a beautiful way with a shared attitude of positive energy and spiritual growth.

The world can be chaotic and scary at times, and the one thing we can count on is change. I help people realize it’s okay if we’re not in control as long as we’re empowered and aligned with our highest soul self. We’re here for big experiences, and everything is a choice. Tomorrow, we might make a different choice from today. So don’t get too attached to things. Live your life with integrity then go with the flow.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
A big lesson that I needed to learn is that everything happens in perfect time. We can’t force a plan to go our way if the energy isn’t there to support it. However, once the energy is aligned (meaning your intentions/emotions/actions), then look out! It’s like lightning in a bottle.

Acceptance of “what is” is the key to dropping your unwarranted fears and enabling you to surf the waves instead of constantly getting tossed around at the whim of others. Trust that we live in a benevolent universe and follow the signs. We are always being guided if we pay attention.
