Meet Gilbert Ramos of Son Construction

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gilbert Ramos

Hi Gilbert , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a carpentry contractor. I am following the steps of my father who was and is in the carpentry business for more than 50 years. Growing up, I never thought I’d be following in his footsteps. I even started working in the banking industry as a young adult. Unfortunately I found myself jobless and not knowing what I would do at the age of 24. I started to help my father with his business temporarily, so I thought. I quickly realized what I could do and I found passion in working with my hands and helping clients bring their visions come to life. In that moment I realized, this is where God has me for a reason and I started to learn more and more about the business.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being a young person in the construction business is not easy. Understandably the older ones with more experience in the business are the ones who are quickly trusted. It was up to me to put in the extra effort to prove myself and my work.

We’ve been impressed with Son Construction , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I specialize in custom woodworking and remodeling. I am proud of the quality of work we provide. We never cut corners and always use the best materials for the jobs. We believe in working for the clients. We believe in your investment and want to make sure you are happy and proud of the end results.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
My father. His company name is Ramos and son construction. I took part of what he instilled in me and set my company name to son construction which has 2 meanings.
1. Son of the king most high (crown logo)
2. Continuing my father’s legacy in the quality of work he has left on the city of San Antonio.

I would also love to mention my wife. My number one supporter. The one who believed in my business from the start. The one who encouraged me to start even when I wasn’t making money. The one who would hear me out with my struggles, even though she had no idea of the construction lingo lol. She’s my rock, my savior, and my forever.
