Today we’d like to introduce you to Noelle Donaldson
Hi Noelle, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’d dreamed of having a Samoyed for years—they’re my favorite breed. Towards the end of the pandemic, that dream came true, and I became a dog mom to Tokyo (his name was inspired by the main character of my favorite show during covid, ‘Money Heist’). I started an Instagram account to document his growth and share his journey with my family who live across the country. Over the first year, Tokyo’s goofy personality and expressive face really started to shine through. Initially, I never intended to gain a following, but a few of our videos went viral, and suddenly Tokyo had his own community of supporters. Seeing this, I decided to be more intentional with our content, and it’s been an incredible journey ever since.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like with any passion, there have been ups and downs. It took time to build the confidence to share our videos online, and balancing a full-time job with the demands of consistently creating engaging content has been challenging. Finding the right rhythm between work and this creative outlet has been a process, but the joy it brings makes it all worth it.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a content creator known for making funny videos featuring my dog Tokyo, which have resonated with a growing online community. I specialize in filming and editing both short and long-form content that highlights the playful and unique personality of my dog. What I’m most proud of is the genuine connection we’ve built with our audience—bringing a bit of joy and laughter into their daily lives, all while getting to spend time with Tokyo. What sets me apart is my commitment to authenticity, I try to put out videos that are relatable to dog (and pet) owners so that our experiences can connect us!
How do you think about luck?
The success of our videos felt like a stroke of luck that opened doors I hadn’t anticipated. While hard work and consistency have been crucial, I recognize that I am very fortunate because these videos have shaped our story and helped us connect with people and opportunities. However, aside from that all- I am just so incredibly thankful and lucky that I have Tokyo. He means everything to me with or without social media. I can’t imagine my life without him.
