Check Out Adam DiMarco’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam DiMarco.

Hi Adam, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I began my yoga journey when I was 16 years old while trying out different fitness classes at the gym. I soon realized that yoga was much more than a gym fitness class and started going to a local studio in Cleveland, Ohio called Inner Bliss Yoga. By the time I was 18, I was going to yoga classes consistently with a group of friends and we had begun talking about becoming yoga teachers in the future. However, when I was 18 my twin brother tragically passed away due to an accidental overdose. This changed everything for me and I decided to go away to college the next year at Ohio University. I saved money throughout college and had a steady yoga practice so that the moment I graduated (and literally five days after in 2018) I went to Paradise Island, Bahamas to live, work, and train to be a yoga teacher. During my yoga training, I met a wonderful friend who was from England and asked me to come work for them for a short period of time. After becoming a yoga teacher, I went to England but sadly did not make it through immigration due to lack of a visa and was sent back to the states. All these choices in life led me to Austin, where I moved to after getting sent back to Cleveland, Ohio. I started teaching at small studios when I moved here in 2018 & was able to learn and grow so much from the experiences I had. As a 200-hr Registered Yoga Teacher, I now teach 7-12 classes a week at Black Swan Yoga & Flow Yoga and at different events around the city. Yoga and meditation has changed my life for the better and helps me to continue to grow & expand every single day.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Truthfully, it has been a smooth road growing as a yoga teacher. I think what people don’t realize is how long it takes and how much money it costs though. It took me two years to save up enough money to get my 200-hr certification. I was a yoga student for six years before becoming a teacher myself. As a student and a teacher, yoga is a lifelong journey.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I provide yoga for everyone, I offer classes where it doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or have been practicing for 25 years, you can adjust the practice to what your body & mind need in that moment.

Any big plans?
My original goal of 2020 was to go and take a 300-hr yoga training so that I would be a 500-hr advanced yoga teacher, but Covid had other plans. As of now, I’m focused on living in the moment, but before 2022 ends I plan on achieving my dream of completing a 300-hr training.
