Today we’d like to introduce you to Angelo White.
Hi Angelo, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hi my name is Angelo White. I am a 30 year African American male born and raised in Detroit, MI. I currently reside in Texas. I have been a licensed barber since 2015. I started cutting hair to have freedom over my life and to help people. Cutting hair is more than a haircut it’s you being there for the community and the people in it. People come to the barber to look better, relax for an hour from life, talk sports, get things off their chest, and advice; whatever the conversation is the barber have to be versatile and well rounded to listen and serve his people. Thats why I fell in love with this craft! I have been blessed to have opportunities from being a barber on the set of a movie, working at a nursing home, and doing multiple back to school events. You must have passion and love in the thing you do everyday and I love being a barber .
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road of barbering have been a blessing but it have not always been easy. Since I start cutting in 2015 I have worked at 6 barbershops, 2 have been out of state in Virginia and Texas but most of my barber career have been in Detroit. Some shops I left because of personal reasons and some because of the owner or coworkers of the shop. I have even took a break from cutting hair after the death of my grandma. But through it all the clippers always called me back
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a barber. I’m known for giving out good haircuts and great customer service and advice. I’m proud that I get to leave an impact on people lives just through a haircut or conversation. What set me apart is that I still give you the old school feel of a barber in 2025
