Today we’d like to introduce you to Britny & Billy Hawkins.

Britny & Billy, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My husband and I are high school sweethearts who started our company, Our Globetrotting. We fell in love with traveling the world at an early age and never stopped. My husband, Billy, was in the US Army where we had the privilege to live in Germany for several years. We began taking our journey of travel seriously while in Germany and never looked back.

Our love of travel has lead us to visit over 27 countries where we explored some of the best locations on earth. While traveling, we developed a passion for photography and working within the travel industry.

We now travel all over the world visiting some of the most luxurious locations all while creating digital content for major brands within the travel industry. We love to showcase what our world has to offer and inspire new travelers to get out and see new locations while meeting new people. We call Austin, TX home now and have absolutely fallen in love with this city and the amazing people. It is a must visit spot.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like any developing business, we have had challenges along the way. As we look back, we have found one of the biggest obstacles came with building our brand. It takes a lot more work and time than most people anticipate. We have invested in professional camera gear, built a website, YouTube channel, TikTok, and an Instagram for our following who trusts us for our advice and travel recommendations. Early on, while we were building our portfolio we found that networking and making lasting connections within the travel industry really helped to grow our brand, Our Globetrotting. Like with any industry, the more people you know the easier it will be to grow.

Now that we have grown our portfolio and worked with larger brands, it’s much easier to land paying contracts with companies we trust and admire. When we provide high-quality content for a brand and make great connections it generally leads to the next referral. We have really enjoyed working with amazing people and cultivating healthy relationships.

This past year has been a challenge for everyone, especially in the travel industry. We had canceled a few international projects but took on more local trips. We really try to show that trusted hotels could provide a safe experience during this tough time. Now that travel is starting to resume, we hope to share more of what Austin has to offer as well.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are passionate about travel and as content creators, we have had the privilege to develop and create digital content focusing on luxury travel. Digital content creation has increasingly become more in demand due to the popularity of social media platforms such as Instagram and Youtube. We saw a need and focused on trying to fill that need.

We get to work with amazing brands such as Four Seasons Hotels, Omni resorts and Vessel bags in an effort to provide professional-grade video and photographs. Our content is often used on company social media, websites and publications to promote what each brand offers. We often try to separate ourselves from other digital creators by taking it to the next step and including local businesses. Often times our efforts to help small businesses result in them gaining exposure with larger companies and helping them grow.

This past year, Our Globetrotting has seen an increase of traffic on our social media to include Instagram, YouTube and TikTok. Our own social media is where we see the highest amount of professional requests from brands from all over the world. However, one of the things we are most proud of is helping businesses within the US grow and especially helping local Austin small business.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
Austin is one of our favorite cities on earth, and that says a lot since we have been all over the world. We decided to make Austin our home base for traveling due to the fact the people are amazing and we would be centrally located in Texas.

Our favorite part about Austin is simply the people. The people are from all over the US and frankly the world. This diversity provides a great sense of culture and understanding while we are out interacting with the locals. Austin businesses make it easy to work with them and are extremely welcoming when we are on site creating content as they conduct business.

We have found that Austin is almost a perfect city to make a home base for Our Globetrotting. We must say that we wish the housing market was a little more robust and that traffic was not as bad but that is a small price to pay to live in such an amazing city. We could not imagine living anywhere else.
