Check Out Crystal Berry-Roberts, MD, MBA, FACOG’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Berry-Roberts, MD, MBA, FACOG.

Hi Crystal, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m Dr. Crystal Berry-Roberts, a board-certified OB/GYN who has always believed that truly listening is just as important as the medicine itself. Over the years, I have learned how many women left their visits still needing space to ask questions, learn, and feel fully supported. That’s what inspired me to create DocWhoListens™ — a women’s health coaching and education brand that brings care into the community in more approachable, creative ways.
One of my favorite expressions of this has been Trail Talks™, free community events where women gather in welcoming spaces to learn, connect, and talk openly about their health. These events have shown me how powerful it is when women feel seen and heard in a setting that isn’t rushed or intimidating.
As DocWhoListens™ continues to grow, I’m excited to expand into more personalized and private offerings for women who want deeper one-on-one support. My vision has always been to meet women where they are — whether that’s through group education, coaching, or more tailored options on the horizon.
At its heart, DocWhoListens™ is about creating spaces where women feel heard, understood, and empowered at every stage of life.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. The path to becoming a physician is demanding on its own — medical school, residency, long hours, and the weight of responsibility that never really lets up. Add to that being a mom and trying to hold onto some sense of balance, and there were many seasons where it felt like I was pouring from an empty cup.
Even now, I think one of the hardest parts has been learning how to navigate both identities — the doctor who shows up fully for her patients, and the woman who is still trying to show up for herself and her family. Work-life balance has not always been something I could claim, and that reality pushed me to reimagine what my career could look like.
Starting Doc Who Listens™ has been both challenging and rewarding because it sits right at that intersection — where my professional expertise meets my personal mission. The struggles have shaped me, but they’ve also clarified why I do this: women need spaces where they feel heard, understood, and cared for in ways that traditional models don’t always allow.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At my core, I’ve always been someone who listens. Growing up, I saw too many moments when family members, friends, and people in my community weren’t listened to, weren’t valued, or were overlooked. I often found myself stepping in — advocating for my parents who didn’t have a college education, or for a friend who didn’t have as strong a voice. Those early experiences shaped me. They taught me that the most basic act of being human is to really see another person, meet them where they are, and not turn away.
That’s the heart of who I am as a physician and as a person. When patients tell me, “Thank you for listening, I finally feel heard,” that is everything. It’s why I created DocWhoListens™ — to build spaces where women don’t feel rushed, dismissed, or invisible.
Right now, that shows up most clearly through Trail Talks™, free community events where women gather in supportive spaces to learn and connect. I’m proud of how these conversations create real moments of trust and authenticity. Looking forward, I’m also excited to grow into offering more personalized options for women who want deeper one-on-one support.
What sets me apart isn’t just my medical training — it’s the core belief that listening is more than hearing words. It’s connection, it’s caring, and it’s a way of saying: you matter. That’s what underpins DocWhoListens™, and that’s what I hope women feel every time they engage with me.

What are your plans for the future?
The future of women’s health is extremely critical and fuels my excitement for the development and growth of DocWhoListens™. Right now, I’m focused on growing the grassroots work I’ve started through Trail Talks™ and continuing to create spaces where women feel seen and supported.
What I can say is that there are more personalized options and new ways of connecting on the horizon. The vision has always been bigger than where it started, and I’m carefully laying the groundwork for what’s next.
With the evolving landscape of women’s health, DocWhoListens is here to support women wherever they roam.
To feel empowered and supported, you can stay connected through the website, DocWhoListens.com, and know that what’s ahead will remain grounded in listening, connection, and women’s well-being.
