Check Out DJ Nothing Lest ’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to DJ Nothing Lest

Hi DJ Nothing Lest, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Its been an long journey to get where I am today. I’ve been living Dallas now for 11 years from Memphis, TN. My wife and I literally moved here with just our cars and whatever could fit in it lol. Coming from Memphis, I already had a hustler’s mindset to get it by anyway means. If that meant for me from being a cook at Waffle House and working at FedEx at night while still having a day job, then so be it! I even became a Child Protective Service Investigator for Dallas County before having my 9-5 job that I have now.

Music has always been in my life since I was a child. I remembered when my mother gave me a cassette tape of Whitney Houston “I Will Always Love You” when I was 5 years old because her voice was so beautiful to me. Waking up watching cartoons, putting them on mute while having music in the background so the song could give the cartoon a different story. Being in high school, selling CDs by using Limewire, my best friend lol. I could go on and on but let me fast forward to during the Pandemic era in 2020 when I made the decision to start my DJ career.

During 2020, me and my wife was financially stable enough to start trying to have kids. We went to doctors to get everything checked out, and that’s when I got the call. The nurse called me while I was at work and stated I couldn’t have any children. That shocked me to my core, to a point where I questioned my purpose in life. I went into depression with no motivation and drive to do anything. Well one day my wife got me up from the couch and took me to Guitar Center. She always knew I wanted to be a DJ and I ended getting a Pioneer DDJ 200. I mean the first time I touch those small jog wheels, rest was history from there lol.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It wasn’t a smooth road because I was still dealing with depression, the only thing that got me out of this was my wife, therapist, and my DJ controller. Whenever I got myself in a dark hole I would just play music for hours until I fell asleep.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a DJ, I specialize in private events, corporate events, weddings, and upscale lounges. The most thing I’m proud of is that fact people hire me to play music for them because they know I deliver!

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Yes, I formally went by DJ ZoPound, decided to change that because it didn’t represent me and the vision I have my brand to be. I go my DJ Nothing Lest now because if you ever make it out of a difficult situation, just know that from now on then don’t half ass your purpose!
