Emmify isn’t just a business name—it’s a philosophy, a reflection of who I am and how I approach my work. “Emma” represents me, and “ify” embodies the unique touch I bring to everything I do. Meticulous attention to detail, clear and thorough communication, a hands-on approach, and an unwavering commitment to perfection—these are the standards that define my work and the experience I provide for every client.
Growing up in Boerne, Texas—As a fifth-generation Boernite, my roots ran deep. But life had bigger plans. When I moved to Austin with my fiancé, I made a bold decision: to go solo right out of cosmetology school. In the beauty industry, that’s practically unheard of. The norm is to work under someone else first, to ease into the business. But I wasn’t interested in doing things the conventional way—I wanted to build something that was truly mine.
From the very start, I envisioned more than just a Lash Studio. I wanted to create a private, safe space where clients could feel comfortable, a place where beauty treatments doubled as therapy sessions. A space where conversations flowed freely, where every appointment was more than just a service—it was an experience.
My passion for care and connection started long before I ever picked up a pair of shears. Before diving into cosmetology, I spent six years as a nanny, caring for children and families. That time shaped me, deepening my love for people and reinforcing my belief in the power of personal connection. It’s that same care, that same attention to detail, that I now bring to my business.
As a solo cosmetologist, I wear many hats. I manage every aspect of my business—from customer service and bookings to website design, social media, and paperwork. Every Instagram post, every photo, every caption—it all comes from me. It’s a balancing act that requires organization, creativity, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
But at the heart of it all, my greatest joy comes from the people I meet. Every client brings a new story, a different perspective, a unique energy. Whether it’s their first appointment or their tenth, my goal is always the same: to Emmify their experience—to add that special touch of care, attention, and excellence that sets my work apart.
What started as a leap of faith has become my passion, my livelihood, and my purpose. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting over in a new city is never easy, especially when you’re building a business from the ground up. When I moved to Austin, I didn’t have an established clientele—I didn’t even know anyone. In the world of cosmetology, that’s a daunting challenge. Success isn’t just about skill; it’s about connection, trust, and loyalty. And when you’re the new stylist in town, you have to earn that from scratch.
It all comes down to branding yourself, staying consistent, and showing up—both online and in person. Social media isn’t just a marketing tool; it’s the bridge that connects me to the people I hope to serve. Every post, every photo, every caption is a piece of me, a way to share my passion, my work, and my vision. But branding only gets you so far. The real magic happens when clients walk through my door.
Cosmetologists move. Clients move. Life pulls us in different directions—marriages take us to new cities, children bring new chapters. Through all of that change, one thing remains constant: the need to take care of yourself. Self-care isn’t just about looking good—it’s about feeling seen, valued, and recharged. That’s where I come in.
At Emmify, it’s my job to do more than just Lash Extensions, Lash Lift & Tints and also waxing. I’m here to give you a moment of pause in the chaos of life—a few hours to breathe, to laugh, to talk, to be taken care of. A session with me isn’t just an appointment; it’s girl therapy, a reset button, a space where you can unwind and leave feeling better than when you came in.
The hardest part of this journey is also the most rewarding: creating a space people want to return to. A space that feels like home, where clients feel valued and appreciated. Every person who sits in my chair is a blessing, and my goal is to make sure they know it.

I found my mentors in women who own their own businesses—strong, hardworking women who understand the challenges of entrepreneurship. My advice? Look for someone who is real and raw with you, not someone who sugarcoats the struggles. Running a business is tough, and having mentors who share honest advice and hard-earned wisdom has been invaluable.
