Today we’d like to introduce you to Iesha Williams.
Hi Iesha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my fashion Instagram on Wednesday, July 15th, 2020. In under a year, it brought me community, friendships, paid partnership, and a creative outlet. Through navigating the “influencer” world, I wanted to make sure that I was staying authentic and genuine with everyone who came to my page. I truly wanted to inspire others with affordable fashion and positivity each day. I noticed that other bloggers began reaching out and asking how I was able to have such high engagement, be accepted on the LikeToKnowIt app, and receive paid partnerships with brands when my following was only 400 people at the time. As an educator (I have been in public education for 11 years) it was natural for me to help others-so I did. I quickly realized that I could combine my love for helping others and my love for fashion; so that is when my Coaching and Mentoring Service began. I now help micro-influencers land paid partnerships and discover their Instagram niche at a very accessible cost.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This has not been a smooth road at all! I work a full-time job as an educator and in order for any side hustle to be successful, it too must become your full-time job. Early on, I would find myself navigating through balancing my work obligations while also still seeking to satisfy my creative outlet of Instagram. It was tough. But through trial and error, I figured out what worked for me and how I could find that much-needed balance.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I have been a public educator for over a decade. I have taught at the high school and collegiate level, with experience in writing district curriculum and delivering professional development. For the last two years, I have served as an Instructional Coach to a team of teachers who are seeking to continue improving at their craft, and I recently accepted a position as the Assistant Principal of Instruction on my current campus.
Aside from that, I run IeshasInsight which is a fashion and lifestyle blog where I offer coaching services to micro influencers. I am most proud of my work with other bloggers and watching them bring their creative visions to life. My genuine attitude and direct action items really set me apart from others. I am my clients’ biggest fan, but I also let them know that they must be willing to put in the hard work to achieve their version of success.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Of course! Have I mentioned that I LOVE helping others?!
