Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Miller.
Hi Jordan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Fitness has always been part of who I am. As a lifelong athlete and former soccer player, I learned early on the power of movement and the confidence it can build. That passion led me to pursue a degree in Exercise Science & Human Performance, where I deepened my understanding of how the body moves, adapts, and grows. After graduating college, I landed a well paying but soul crushing job (not in the fitness space), I was very unhappy. I knew I wanted to take what I had learned and use it to help people feel stronger, more capable, and more confident in their everyday lives. That’s when I decided to follow what I loved most and become a certified personal trainer.
Since 2016, I’ve been training clients with all kinds of goals, from getting stronger to moving pain-free to pushing performance limits. What began as a love for fitness has grown into a lifelong mission to empower others through functional movement and healthy habits!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The decision to quit my job and move to Austin to pursue personal training was tough. I was only 23 at the time and had no idea if I was making the right decision or not. Quitting a great job with good pay and benefits to move to a new city without a job lined up, and one that I wasn’t even certified in yet, seemed crazy to me. All I knew is that I was unhappy and something had to change.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a personal trainer and I help people improve their lives through health and fitness. I specialize in helping everyday people become more comfortable with the gym and exercise movements. I know that we won’t be training together forever, so when we do stop I want them to have the tools and knowledge to confidently step into a gym or create their own workout.
Although a client getting their first pull-up or pushup is pretty amazing, there is nothing like hearing them talk about how their quality of life is improving. It is truly why I love my job and what makes me most proud.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I feel as though I am approachable and personable. I joke that 50% of being a personal trainer is being able to talk to people. If the client is going to spend multiple hours per week with you, I know they appreciate you having good conversation and rapport. It makes the overall process much more enjoyable.
