Check Out Jorge Flores Padilla’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jorge Flores Padilla.

Hi Jorge, we would love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Jorge Flores Padilla; I am 30 years of age, and I am a young entrepreneur with a big dream to one day be an inspiration for many others who feel voiceless. I was born in Honduras and raised the big metropolitan city of Houston, Texas. I have always been very artistic, energetic, talented, and as many would say “special.”

Growing up I was abused severely, in many ways imaginable, but luckily, I survived. I was 11 years old when I was forced into child labor, sexually abused since I was less than 8 years old by my stepfather, and physically and mentally abused by my “mother”. When I turned 24 years of age in 2016, I found out that I was missing in Honduras for 24 years. I was told that I was abandoned growing up and made believe that my mother was murdered, but it turned out to not be true. I am 30 now and have never met my biological mother or father, which I hope to do so one day.

I am a proud alumni of Cypress Woods High School class of 2011; Home of The Wildcats, where we believe in a philosophy of the power in 212 degrees for life. When I was in 11th grade, I became homeless due to the hostile environment I was raised in, but somehow, I managed to make it all the way through graduation. I have been faced with many challenges throughout my life, just like many others that some may not have survived. I remember how I was so scared and desperate. I was at my lowest of the low when I decided to one day take a leap of faith and went to Covenant House of Texas. This changed my life in many ways I could never imagine. Due to the lack of immigration documents, I wasn’t able to work, so I decided to volunteer with a friend Milo at, Catholic Charities, where I met amazing people like, John Dixon in Volunteer services and Cynthia Colbert, the CEO of this great organization. Because of my persistence to keep going in life, Cynthia heard of my situation and personally helped me obtain my DACA, a U-Visa that gave me the path to permanent residency and after 28 years I am so proud to finally be eligible to become a United Sates Citizen this May. My history has only made me the strong, independent, and charismatic person I am today.

I’m sure you would not say it has been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
My brand of JJ’s Photo Studio & Marketing. LLC has been a project I have dedicated myself for over a year and I have invested with every little dime I have; even though funding my company has been incredibly challenging, especially after losing my job invest anything I can into my company because I have faith in JJ’s and I believe in myself that this is my calling and my duty in life. I realize I have such a disadvantage in a competitive market and high-demand industry; I must juggle full-time jobs during the day while doing what I love to do work long hours at night, although I may not have an immense corporate finance support yet, I believe that my work is proving itself to be valuable enough for Voyage Austin to take note of my hard work.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in creating engaging content that is unique, catchy, and innovative. I can make something out of nothing with the beautiful content that I create and by capturing the picture-perfect moment through the lens of my camera. My style of attention to detail stands out from the crowd because no matter whether I am designing a birthday card, customizing a new restaurant menu, or taking a breathtaking picture, there is no doubt that you will fall in love with the work that I produce with high quality.

How do you define success?
Success for me is to positively impact our community through loving with what I do through my work—producing a client’s visions into reality. It is not about the money necessarily but about the passion I have in serving our community to make them exceptional quality work that many talk about for years to come. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT.
