Today we’d like to introduce you to Katavia Femster
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
The inspiration behind Kraved Spaces was a unique one. It was born from creating a space where anyone could capture moments in cool, decorative, and fun rooms. As a true Aquarius, I deeply love art and the freedom of expression. However, the Selfie Room concept was in conflict with my passion for offering clients my interior decoration skills, which Elegance and High Fashion characterize. This conflict led me to the idea of a Venue, a blank canvas where creativity thrives and where people can celebrate their life moments in a space that’s uniquely theirs. Telling my young age here, being 32 yrs young lol; my entrepreneurial journey is a testament to resilience, innovation, and a passion for creating change. My mother would say It began when I was eight, when I sold my first teddy bear and learned that determination can turn ‘no’s’ into ‘yes.’ I wanted to do my own thing being the youngest of 10 brothers and sisters. Growing up in the inner city of Detroit, I always sought more opportunities, adventure, and ways to make an impact.
My dreams took flight during college when I launched my first business after I found out I had Alopecia. This new health condition drove my mission to empower women like myself and foster community; I created spaces for women suffering in silence, inspiring a wave of support and solidarity through my wig business.
In 2014, I embarked on a new chapter in my journey when I relocated to Nashville. My unwavering dedication to health and wellness led me to create a business committed to enhancing the well-being of Black communities through juicing “GreenGoddessJuices.” This commitment instills confidence in our community health initiatives.
After a decade of excelling in Corporate America, particularly in diversity, equity, and inclusion, I recognized a critical gap in supplier diversity as the corporate event manager. I felt I had to do something about it. Thus, Kraved Spaces was created—an elite, luxurious, and inclusive venue where families, small businesses, and non-profit organizations can gather, grow, and thrive. As most people, to balance work/business and personal life, I threw parties. That everyone would attend and not want to leave! So in 2024, I decided Kraved Spaces had to be my new happy place, blending all joys, Interior Decorating, Serving the community, and fixing the problem of not enough black businesses.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was not smooth at all, but the journey has been a testimony of resilience. The largest struggle along the way was mindset: understanding that I had to prioritize and value my creativity and knowing that I was worthy of success, like the ones I looked up to.
Secondly, I wasn’t willing to invest additional money and time into the crafts I love and wanted to master. In the era of information, it sometimes feels like you have access to so much information, so it felt hard to focus and master a skill or trade, especially being out of traditional school.
This leads me to my final major struggle: being disciplined and patient. You must trust in the process and be disciplined to gain traction and success in any business.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

My corporate experience in DEI and Wellbeing has shaped my approach to cultivating spaces that are as welcoming as they are transformative.
What are you most proud of?
I’m most proud of launching Kraved Spaces as one of the few Black-owned event venues in the Austin area. This journey has been deeply personal for me, as I’ve funded this venture myself while overcoming challenges like supply chain delays and construction issues. The space reflects not only my dedication to excellence but also my commitment to uplifting underrepresented communities and providing them with a place to shine.
What sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart is my ability to merge my corporate expertise in DEI and Wellbeing with my entrepreneurial passion. I create inclusive, customizable spaces that reflect the unique stories of my clients, whether they’re celebrating life’s milestones or hosting impactful business events. At Kraved Spaces, every corner is thoughtfully designed to balance upscale luxury with flexibility, giving clients the freedom to make their event truly their own.
Additionally, my background in corporate event planning and interior designer allows me to step in and provide personalized support beyond just the venue. My mission goes beyond business—I’m here to help celebrate life moments, empower others to achieve their goals, and contribute to the growth of diverse businesses in the Austin area.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I am 8 of 10 brothers and sisters. Being the younger girl gave me all the guidance, strength, and confidence I needed as a young girl growing up in the heart of Detroit, and having two young brothers taught me how to love unconditionally. Secondly, I have ridden a motorcycle since I was 9 years old, following in my mother’s footsteps as a Courageous, brave, unstoppable Adrenaline lover.
