Today we’d like to introduce you to Kerry Morrison
Hi Kerry, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
As a 19 year old I had no idea what career path I was interested in. I had a passion for makeup and I wanted to make a difference in the world for women. After some research I decided on an esthetician program. After finishing school and getting my license I narrowed my field down to lash extensions. My dream was always to have a salon of my own but in the beauty industry experience is a necessity. I got a job working in the Austin area and had the privilege of working for a company whose owner was so passionate and knowledgeable about the beauty industry and business. I stayed there for 3 years and soaked in as much knowledge and experience as I could. I got an opportunity to move closer to my family so I resigned from my position. I got an opportunity to bring my skills and knowledge to a new company and I was so privileged to be able to build lasting relationships and help women feel their best. After 6 years in the beauty industry I decided it was time to make my dream happen and open Rhinestone Lash Studio. My salon has been open and operating since September of 2023 and I have been truly blown away by the amount of support and growth I’ve had. Being able to make a difference in women’s lives and helping them feel their best is what I was made to do. Whether it’s permanent make up, sugaring ( wax alternative), fine line tattoos , lash extensions you can always be sure you are getting the highest quality of service and a truly passionate artist that loves what they do.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
An obstacle is really just a learning experience. The more, the better equipped you are to be prepared. I think learning that was probably the biggest struggle. I struggled a lot with finding my niche because I enjoy doing so many different services. My mother was a huge inspiration and really instilled a good work ethic from a young age. I wouldn’t be where I am without her.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am the owner and operator of Rhinestone Lash Studio. I offer lash extensions, fine line tattoos, brow services and permanent makeup. I specialize in in-depth brow mapping. Whether it’s permanent tattooed brows or just a brow sugar you can be sure you are getting the most in depth brow mapping customized to your unique features. I started with lash artistry I specialize in custom lash sets that accentuate my clients natural features. I am most proud of my ability to be a welcoming safe space for my clients to express themselves and build a long lasting relationship while also getting pampered and that is what sets me apart from other salons.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Ever since a child I was always a leader. I’ve always had an entrepreneur spirit. I think those qualities as well as my positive mindset has gotten me to where I am.
