Check Out Kristie Escamilla’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristie Escamilla.

Hi Kristie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Kristie Escamilla. Born and raised in Kerrville Texas.
I started my lemonade journey In June of 2025 briefly after my father passed on Mother’s Day 2025. He had been living with us for about two years battling cancer and a few other medical issues.
So back in 2024 my husband and I were discussing wanting a snow cone but it was the middle of winter and there was no where to get one. So we talked about opening a snow cone truck. That idea just sat there and nothing became of it.
Fast forward to 2025, I started researching snow cone machines while watching a tv show and just relaxing. I completely went a different direction and started looking up lemonade stand items. After discussing it with my husband, I decided to get my feet wet and try selling lemonade. I did my research and got all the appropriate steps needed and reached out to local farmer market.
I often wondered how this would work, as I myself suffer from a few auto immune issues. But what heck, let’s give it shot.
One of my twins has always been a mommas girl and has taken on the roll of helping me. She’s my muscle. We operate under 2 (10×10) tents. So she does a lot of the heavy lifting. A lot goes into making sure things are running right. From the time we set up to the time we actually hand the lemonade to the customer. So it nice to have her there to help. We are a small family owned business. So it really not just her. My other children go out to help when possible as well as my nephews and daughter in-law. .
But it’s not just about selling lemonade, we’ve made many new friend along the way. We’ve built and become part of a small community of vendors. We enjoy the conversations we have with customers. We love seeing the faces on the children when they get that first sip of lemonade.
It has become a true blessing.
Our goal is to one day own a beverage trailer where we can serve our liquid sunshine (lemonade) and snow cones and other items. But not just stop there, to go wherever the God lord calls us.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road along the way has had a few bumps. Starting with the horrible flood our little community endured. Thank goodness we were not effect personally by the flood. But our community was hurting, and so were we.
Not having trailer at the beginning was very difficult. Loading and unloading tables, canopies and supplies into my expedition was really challenging at times. We were packed from the back of the expedition to almost the front. But we were blessed with not one but two utility trailers which has been a huge difference. Summer heat isn’t forgiving. So sometimes and days it was more difficult than others.
Then I’ve dealt with my auto immune issues and chronic pain that comes along with that. So sometimes it’s difficult to work around. But being a family owned business, I could have not have done it or continue to do it without the support from my husband and family.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am most proud of how far we have come in such a short period of time. We specialize in making sure that each cup of lemonade or snack (pickle plate or apple nachos) is made with not just the best ingredients but with love and care.
Depending on the season, we specialize in creating unique flavors our customers love.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
A lot of customers don’t realize until they see us making the lemonade, that everything is made to order. We slice, squeeze or muddle the lemons and all the ingredients before handing it to the customer. It takes us many hours and thinking to plan out our events to insure everything is perfect for our customers.
We are working towards building a lemonade trailer which will be a lemonade house for all things Squeez-E’s.
