Check Out Kristin Parr’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristin Parr.

Hi Kristin , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey into design began with a passion for aesthetics, storytelling, and brand experience. After studying Merchandising and Design at Florida State University, I launched my career in New York City, working at Gucci Group and Vogue Magazine. These roles immersed me in the world of luxury fashion and editorial, sharpening my eye for detail and refining my understanding of elevated visual presentation.

I later moved to London, where I expanded my expertise in luxury marketing. I worked at Quintessentially Lifestyle, a global leader in concierge and lifestyle services, where I led the rebrand of the company into a full-fledged global lifestyle brand. From there, I joined Caprice Holdings, known for London’s most iconic restaurants, including The Ivy and Le Caprice. I supported high-profile campaigns and helped maintain the distinctive identity of each venue through strategic marketing.

After moving to Bermuda, I launched my first business—an event design company—where I led creative direction for luxury celebrations and learned how to run a business from concept through execution. That entrepreneurial experience naturally evolved into interior design when I returned to Austin.

I founded Anna Gray Designs (named after my children), where I now focus on custom residential and boutique hospitality projects. My work blends thoughtful space planning, layered materials, and a refined yet approachable aesthetic. I’ve been honored to have my designs featured in Architectural Digest and Elle Decor, and recognized by Austin Home Magazine with the Details Award.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For the most part, it’s been a really positive journey. Every project has taught me something new, and while I wouldn’t say it’s been filled with struggles, there have definitely been learning curves along the way. Most clients are amazing to work with, but sometimes there’s a gap in understanding just how layered and detailed the design process really is—which can be a challenge to navigate.

The biggest hurdle was definitely during COVID, when demand for home projects exploded but shipping delays and supply chain issues made it really tough to keep timelines on track. It forced me to get even more creative and proactive in finding solutions. Looking back, even the tougher moments helped me fine-tune my process and made me a stronger designer and project manager.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I’m the founder and principal interior designer of Anna Gray Designs, specializing in custom residential interiors and boutique hospitality spaces. I focus on creating layered, intentional environments that feel elevated but approachable—spaces that are not only beautiful, but also highly livable and deeply personal to each client. My work often blends tailored materials, thoughtful textures, and subtle sophistication to create designs that feel both timeless and fresh.

I’m known for my ability to balance creativity with execution. I don’t just design beautiful spaces; I manage the full project experience, ensuring that every detail from initial concept through final installation is cohesive, organized, and aligned with the client’s vision. I’m especially proud of the trust my clients place in me and the relationships I’ve built through the process—many of my projects come from referrals, which I consider the highest compliment.

What sets me apart is my background in luxury branding and hospitality, combined with a hands-on, highly personalized approach to every project. I understand how important it is for a home or space to tell a story, to feel curated but never staged. I bring a blend of high-end design knowledge, project management skills, and true passion for creating environments that enhance the way people live.

I’m also proud to have been featured in Architectural Digest and Elle Decor, and to have received the Details Award from Austin Home Magazine. Recognition is wonderful, but what means the most to me is seeing my clients’ reactions when a project comes together—it’s truly the best part of what I do.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Resilience and intuition have been the most important qualities in my success. Resilience has allowed me to stay steady through the natural ups and downs of running a creative business—whether it’s navigating project challenges, shifting timelines, or adapting to client needs. Intuition plays a huge role too. Understanding what a client truly wants, even if they can’t fully articulate it yet, and being able to translate that into a space that feels exactly right is something I take a lot of pride in.

I also think having a strong balance between creativity and organization has been key. Great design is important, but being able to manage the process with clarity, professionalism, and attention to detail is what truly brings projects to life—and what builds lasting client trust.
