Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Taylor.
Lauren, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born and raised in Fredericksburg, Virginia. When I was 22, I created my own magazine designed to inspire women. I ran a team of 40 people around the world — Australia, France, USA, and more! With both print and digital sharing, we had over 10,000 downloads and landed in-store for a short period of time. I LOVED uniting women all over the world and making a positive impact by amplifying their voices.
I later moved closer to the ocean in Orlando, Florida. This East Coast gal loved every second of it — I was able to model and partner with brands such as Lilly Pulitzer, Aerie, Pottery Barn Teen, and more. I received an opportunity to move to San Francisco, and, since I couldn’t say no to the adventure, I moved across the country. There, I wore several hats — from being an event and content coordinator to a photographer. I’m so blessed that my career and passion has brought me all over the world to Fiji, New York, LA, and even Hawaii!
Fast forward to now, I’ve embarked on another adventure of becoming an Austin local! Give me all the sweet southern food, good music, and fun in the sun cause, “when in Texas,” right?
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like everything in life, my journey hasn’t always been a smooth road. I’ve experienced struggles with relationships, self-confidence and stepping into who I’ve been created to be. Throughout those struggles, I found my passion and, although not always perfect, I am proud to say that the confidence I have found within myself is something I want others to find too.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I currently work remotely as a community content manager and have continued my dream of modeling, writing, and content creating, while encouraging others to embrace who they are!
As a passionate writer, I couldn’t resist self-publishing a children’s book. It’s called “Your Voice Matters” now available on Barnes and Noble, Amazon, and more! My book celebrates the beautiful, powerful, and unique impact of everyone’s voice. It serves to bridge the gap in helping children understand why their voice matters and the true power it holds.
Through all my work, my mission is to inspire kids and adults alike to love who they are, embrace their authenticity, and promote acceptance, inclusion, and kindness.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My Dad has always recognized my potential and encouraged me to embrace it. He’s been my number one cheerleader, believing in my dreams and goals so fiercely, he purchased all the equipment I needed to start my brand (laptop, camera, etc.).
When I was in grade one he taught me how to speak in public. I ended up giving my first book presentation without reading from a paper, shocking parents and teachers in the process.
He’s always pushed me to keep going and to never give up on my dreams. Having my Dad’s support has been my biggest blessing — not only do I want to make him proud, I want to make myself proud and recognize the potential he sees within me.
