Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Ortega.
Hi Michael, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I moved here from a Mexican family in El Paso/Juarez Mexico and moved to Austin grew up here, was bullied and went threw hardships from learning disabilities and language difficulties and had shadowed my true self till high school and really true became who I wanted to be when starting modeling at age 15 going magazine and shoots and casting / whole life being an athlete, in gymnastics cheer and many more when graduating high school I started to express my femininity and started as a feminine male and then started to dress more female extra.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Sexual abuse Bullies and always bad in school.
Learning Disability and therapy.
Body injuries and physical therapy.
I grew up in special ED.
All my life not knowing who I was.
My schools always had dress codes I couldn’t express myself as well as growing up in a religious Mexican house.
And my modeling career starting at 15.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m most proud of myself and my mikky NORELL fantasy I have created. It’s who I am and who I have always wanted to be since I was a kid. Growing up, I hated my life it was hard growing up but I saw these gorgeous blonde tan models with a glamorous life and in the 2000s growing up, this is was I saw when I moved here as a young Latin boy.
I now today perform live at bars and clubs.
Expressing me and my fantasy and be who I am and share with everyone the bombshell illusion and the glamorous performance and Aesthetic and express my femininity and use all I have learned and show out to people who support me. Being a model and now a performer has been my child dream and now I’m living it all I can do now; it makes it bigger and push for more.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
I’m a very social person, I wasn’t always that way but now I am and COVID really took me back from a lot in my social skills abs. I got let go from my day to day job and I felt so alone during COVID because I felt I couldn’t meet new people and couldn’t really connect with anyone and I strongly believe in human connection.
