Today we’d like to introduce you to Molly Patel.
Hi Molly, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a registered nurse who started off her career in New York City on a busy surgical floor. I’ve always had acne prone, troublesome skin and after doing extensive research, booked an appointment at a dermatology/med spa practice. This was my first look into aesthetics. My skin health greatly improved with repeated visits to this practice and I was hooked! I knew this is what I wanted to do.
After moving to Texas with my husband, I started working at a laser spa. I continued to develop my aesthetic and injecting skills at a plastic surgery practice where I was extremely lucky to be trained by well-renowned plastic surgeons and expert injectors to build my skills and continue my education.
I have found my home at Tru-Skin Dermatology where I have been able to use my skills as an injector and combine different lasers and devices for optimal skin rejuvenation and anti-aging!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My career path has definitely had its ups and downs but I wouldn’t change it for anything. Cosmetic dermatology and injecting are extremely hard to get into and be successful at. It is not a specialty you learn in school either, it takes real tenacity and motivation to seek education and opportunity in this field. NETWORK. This is the biggest advice I can give to someone looking to break in. Talk to anyone and everyone about your goals and any new opportunities. I was able to get this far in my career by putting myself out there and not being scared to get turned down! It is hard work! If you’re willing to do it, it is the most rewarding and transformative career path.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in full face rejuvenation through multiple modalities. I combine injecting with devices to create natural anti-aging treatment plans for all of my patients! I am a huge advocate for skin health and skincare. Patients need to do the work at home, so we can better outcomes for in-office procedures.
My emphasis on combing skincare with injecting truly sets me apart from others. I’m not here to sell you more syringes or units of neurotoxin. I’m here to address your concerns in the most natural way possible that meets your goals and makes you feel confident!
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Our industry is growing like crazy and it is getting bigger and better each year. I see it heading toward natural, preventative results in the next 5-10 years. We are lucky to live in a time where women and men are embodying wellness and self-care more than ever. I see the shift to treatments such as Sculptra, PRP and radiofrequency/microneedling devices.
There is also more interest in skincare thanks to social media platforms like TikTok. Aesthetic practices are beginning to emphasize medical-grade skincare even more.
