Hello everyone, I’m Reshma Khaleel, henna artist and the founder of AR MEHENDI ART. I’m orginally from South part of India. I moved to the USA after my marriage. That is when my journey with henna began quite unexpectedly. The journey of henna art in my life started as a simple hobby that gradually turned into a deep passion and today it has blossomed into a small business of my own. Honestly, henna was never my cup of tea, but I truly believe it chose me. Over time, it has brought me to where I am today, helping me connect with people across Austin and many other cities.
In the beginning, it was just fun doodling random designs for myself and close friends. But when I decided to take the step toward in becoming a professional henna artist, I committed myself fully in learning the henna art and it’s significance. I did a lot of research into the methodology of making organic henna cones, which continues to be our top priority at AR MEHENDI ART. We ensure that every product we use and every service we offer is of the top best quality, completely organic and chemical-free.
Our business began modestly, doing henna for friends, neighbors and family members. Through word of mouth and the trust we built with our clients, our circle slowly expanded and today we are proud to have over 500+ happy clients who return to us to get their henna designs from us at various events and special occasions.
What I love most about this journey is how personal and creative each experience is. At AR MEHENDI ART, we take time to understand every client’s unique preferences and ensure that each design reflects their story. We give our best consultation in our initial conversation with the client which helps them to decide on various factors like when to get the henna done, which design will suit well for their event and what type of package will work for their requirements and much more details. This approach has helped us maintain a strong and loyal client base that continues to grow.
Looking back, what started as a small passion has become a beautiful journey of art, culture and connection. For me, henna is not just about creating designs, it’s about celebrating moments, traditions and individuality through art that comes straight from the heart.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In my opinion, no business is successful without its own set of struggles and challenges. My journey as a henna artist has been filled with continuous learning and personal growth. Every appointment brings something new—whether it’s understanding different client preferences, managing time efficiently during busy seasons, or experimenting with intricate designs to match evolving trends.
Being a mom of two beautiful kids, sometimes it becomes hard to manage business and household chores. As a small business, even though we have a team of artists at AR MEHENDI ART, as a founder I take up a major role in most part of it to maintain our quality of service that we provide to our esteemedclients. This becomes a big challenge to handle everything with business and family at the same time.
Each of these experiences has taught me valuable lessons that go beyond art itself. They’ve helped me improve my service quality, streamline my working process and create a more comfortable and professional environment for my clients. Over time, these learnings have shaped not only my creative approach but also the way I manage my business.
What started as a passion for art has gradually evolved into a thriving business built on dedication, consistency and the willingness to adapt and grow with every challenge that comes my way.

I work as a professional henna artist and I lead my team of henna artists at AR MEHENDI ART, where we specialize in bridal henna and provide professional henna services for a variety of occasions, including weddings, corporate events, birthday parties, quinceañeras, baby showers, Diwali, Eid, festivals and other special celebrations. Our team has also participated in numerous vendor markets and community events, offering henna booths and live demonstrations that bring the art of mehendi to a wider audience.

Looking ahead, my goal is to continue growing AR MEHENDI ART, collaborate with more event & wedding planners and participate in all types of events, cultural festivals and markets across Texas and beyond. I’m passionate about spreading awareness about natural, organic henna and promoting safe, ethical practices within the industry.
