Today we’d like to introduce you to Shawn Anderson.
Shawn, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m original from Baltimore, Maryland and I moved to Austin, Texas about five years ago. I basically came to Austin cause of SXSW and thought Austin was a cool place to try and do this whole Dj thing. I had a friend that I met maybe 5-6 years before that name Chris Marshall aka (crizzly) who I met through my homie in my hometown. So basically, we kept in touch for those years and when I came to visit for SXSW. I asked him if he had an extra spot to move in and he said yea. So I saved up money for six months, packed up all my stuff and drove out to Texas been here sense and still trying to kill it! But yea that’s basically it.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it hasn’t you know everyone goes through their up and downs a lot had to do with being away from home and just being on my own for the first time and trying to get used to life.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
During the week I work for a gas company.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I guess funny always got along with everyone. I was a skate rat so just basically being wild all the time.
