Hi Tatum, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi, I’m Tatum, owner of Tatum Beierle Photography! Taking photos has always been my passion, but I officially launched my business in the fall of 2024. What started as casually capturing moments for friends and family quickly turned into something much bigger when I realized how powerful photos can be in telling stories and preserving memories. I began investing more time into learning my craft, experimenting with different styles, and stepping outside my comfort zone by taking on new clients. Word of mouth and social media played a huge role in helping my business grow, and with each shoot, I gained more confidence and clarity in my creative voice. Today, my photography business is a reflection of both my love for storytelling and my desire to help people feel seen, comfortable, and confident in front of my camera.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It wasn’t always an easy road. In the beginning I had to learn how to put myself out there creatively and professionally. One of the biggest challenges was building confidence and trusting my own style, especially in a space where comparison is easy. There were also moments of growing my business from the ground up that tested my patience and discipline. However, each challenge pushed me to grow, refine my skills, and become more intentional with my work. Those early struggles ultimately shaped the photographer and business owner I am today.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a lifestyle photographer, and I specialize in wedding and portrait photography, including seniors, families, and couples, just to name a few. My work is very people-centered, I focus on capturing genuine emotion, natural movement, and the in-between moments that feel real rather than overly posed. I’m known for creating a comfortable, relaxed environment during sessions so my clients can truly be themselves in front of the camera. What I’m most proud of is the trust my clients place in me to document some of their most meaningful moments. Whether it’s a wedding day or a family session, I approach each shoot with the same level of care and intention, knowing these photos will be looked back on for years to come. What sets me apart is my storytelling approach and attention to detail, I don’t just take photos, I aim to capture memories that feel personal, timeless, and true to the people in front of my camera.
What’s next?
Looking ahead, I’m focused on continuing to grow my business while staying true to the heart of why I started. I plan to expand my wedding and portrait offerings, work with more couples and families, and take on projects that allow me to tell deeper, more meaningful stories. This is a field that is constantly evolving, so I’m also looking forward to refining my style even more and building stronger connections within the creative community. While there aren’t any drastic changes on the horizon, I’m excited about steady growth, new opportunities, and continuing to create work that feels authentic, personal, and fulfilling!
