Today we’d like to introduce you to Ulysses Moore.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
While working at the Department of Veterans Affairs, I decided to venture out and start my company as a single provider (me). I went to African American Youth Harvest Foundation and spoke with Mr. Lofton, who agreed to show me the ropes for being a contract provider for Integral Care. I grew into an agency and took the name of The Hope Project of Central Texas LLC, with 5 providers, then I spread to Williamson County and added 4 therapists, myself included, and 4 Community Living Support providers. We are now a stable community-based provider that services approximately 50 clients a week.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest struggle that I have faced would have to be keeping providers, because most are seeking to achieve professional degrees in this field.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
