

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aubrey Williamson.
Hi Aubrey, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I began my real estate career while my husband and I were moving to the Seattle area for the Army. That was a big turning point in my career as we were both starting our marriage and career paths and after a long discussion on our drive from NC to WA, I decided to take after my mother (she’s in real estate as well) and give it a go!
I quickly fell in love with this fast paced world and found myself working on the commercial side of the industry for the top producing retail investment sales team in the PNW. I loved my time and the knowledge I gained from my experience there and at the time, didn’t really expect to transition to residential. As life does, things changed quickly, we were growing our family, transitioning out of the military, and planning our way back home to Austin.
With the light of a new baby, new surroundings, and new goals, I decided to pursue residential real estate this time around. I felt that my experience in the commercial world and my love for numbers had really prepped me to provide high quality, luxury level service to my clients. I’ve now facilitated over $260M of sales in my career and plan to continue growing my knowledge and client base. I do a substantial portion of my deals off market and pride myself on finding hidden gems. I pour my heart and soul into making sure my service from beginning to end is an elevated experience.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s not always been smooth. Not going to lie, the transition from Seattle was scary, sure Austin was my home but my close friends and business was now based out of a totally different city and in real estate…that matters! It’s not a career that you can put x hours into and expect a return of y. There’s months when I was building my business wondering if I had made the right choice. Looking back it was a no brainer and I am so glad I stuck through it.
As you know, we’re big fans of Kuper Sotheby’s International Realty. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are a global luxury real estate firm. Sotheby’s is an international name that exudes luxury level service and standards and that is exactly what I provide my clients. It’s not that I work only a certain price point…it’s that at any price point I provide the highest quality service, marketing, and care for my clients.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I think going forward Austin will continue to be a hot market. We have so much growth and transition of tech companies to Austin that is not going away anytime soon. Over 2021, we had a huge jump in average price. I believe our values will continue to rise, just not as dramatically as this past year. I think it will return to a more “normal” pace of 1-3% yearly.
