I became a notary public in 1996, back when documents were still being faxed and cell phones had antennas. What started as a side hustle to help friends and family quickly evolved into a calling. Over the years, I witnessed how critical notarization is in people’s lives—whether it’s finalizing a home purchase, preparing estate documents, or navigating a legal emergency.
In 2024, I took a leap of faith and launched Lone Star Mobile Notary Express, a full-service mobile notary business serving Central Texas. I wanted to create something that combined precision, professionalism, and a little bit of humor—because let’s face it, legal paperwork can be stressful. Today, I’m proud to be a Certified Notary Signing Agent, offering everything from loan signings to jail notary services, estate planning, and I-9 verifications. I’ve built a reputation for being fast, reliable, and fiercely committed to my clients’ peace of mind.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Smooth road? Not even close. I’ve navigated everything from early morning jail signings to last-minute estate documents during family emergencies. One of the biggest challenges has been educating the public—and sometimes even institutions—about the limitations of notaries. Another hurdle has been the industry’s payment practices.
Too often, notaries are expected to wait weeks or months for compensation, even after delivering flawless service. That’s why I’ve become an advocate for fair treatment and timely payment for notaries. I’ve also had to wear every hat in the business—marketer, tech support, accountant, and therapist (for both clients and me). But every challenge has sharpened my skills and deepened my resolve.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?

I’ve also learned that humor is a survival tool. Whether I’m navigating a tech glitch or a tense family dynamic at a signing, a little levity goes a long way.
