Hi Dana, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Freedom Libations began with a shared dream between Daniel and Dana. Daniel has worked in liquor stores since he was 14, starting by stocking shelves in his father’s store and growing through every role including cashier, manager, and ultimately owner. It is the only industry he has ever known, and his passion and hands-on experience make him the face of the business. Dana grew up in a family of small business owners, surrounded by Italian delis and butcher shops, and always dreamed of owning something of her own. Today she manages the behind the scenes operations such as payroll, bookkeeping, marketing, and social media, serving as the backbone of the company. Together, they built Freedom Libations as a truly family owned and operated business rooted in hard work and heart.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been an easy road. There were many obstacles, long learning curves, and plenty of blood, sweat, and tears along the way. Starting from a cold, dark shell, Daniel and Dana, along with their family, built the inside of the store with their own hands. From the design to hanging sheetrock and even building a custom counter, they did whatever it took.
Building a store from nothing is challenging on its own. No one knows you are there yet, and you have to earn the community’s trust and break through the stereotype of what people expect a liquor store to be. We always wanted to be more than that, and through hard work and dedication, we believe we have created something truly special for our community.

Freedom Libations is a family owned and operated liquor store run by a husband and wife who live and work in the same community they serve. Our goal has always been to create more than just a place to purchase liquor. We wanted a welcoming, helpful environment where customers feel comfortable asking questions and receiving knowledgeable recommendations.
We specialize in a wide selection of liquor, but we also focus heavily on convenience and service by offering soft drinks, snacks, ice, and other everyday needs. What truly sets us apart is the experience. Everyone who works in our store is passionate, knowledgeable, and invested in helping customers find exactly what they are looking for without pressure or judgment.
We offer personalized services such as special ordering products we do not currently carry, keeping requested items in stock, and assisting with party and event orders, including delivery. We also provide a strong customer rewards program and offer discounts to first responders, law enforcement, and veterans as a way to give back to the community that supports us.
What we are most proud of is that Freedom Libations was built completely from the ground up by our own hands. From the name and branding to the day to day operations, everything was created and managed in house. It represents years of hard work, partnership, and a shared dream.
Above all, we want readers to know that Freedom Libations is not just a liquor store. It is a local, community driven business built on relationships, service, and genuine care for the people we serve.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
One thing that may surprise people is that Freedom Libations is completely run by the two of us. From the very beginning, we handled every step ourselves, from forming the LLC and designing the store to bookkeeping, operations, and daily management. Daniel spent his life working in liquor stores but also earned his bachelor’s degree in public administration before ultimately choosing to follow his passion for the industry. Dana is entirely self taught on the business side and spent extensive time learning everything from licensing to accounting.
Even our name and logo were created by us without outside help. Because we built the business from the ground up together, we know every aspect of it firsthand and remain actively involved every day. That hands on approach is something most people may not realize at first, but they quickly see it when they walk in, talk with us, and experience that Freedom Libations is more than just a liquor store.
