Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabby Ianniello. They and their team shared their story with us below:
Though Gabby’s background is in teaching, she spent almost a decade in Corporate until 2021, when she quit her cushy job on Wall Street to pursue podcasting.
She thought that podcasting would be a fun and challenging new hobby until the ‘serious business idea’ came to fruition, but the show unexpectedly exploded with the rise of Great Resignation and became a globally recognized platform within months.
Since the launch, she’s grown her following to over 50k, has accrued 100k+ podcast downloads, and is recognized as a rising leader, having been featured in media publications, TV segments, and documentaries globally, including the New York Times, Good Morning America, CNBC, and CBS.
Now, three years later, she’s inspired thousands to take the leap and predominantly helps quitters of all kinds in their journey toward liberation.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not. The road to success in business is not nearly as glamorous as the internet may paint it to be.
The most obvious struggle is in what’s expected – how do I make money and keep creating a runway for myself so I can do this long enough to give it a real shot?
But the biggest and most unexpected challenge is the ever-shifting identity crisis that will happen after you quit your job. I thought that once I had figured out what I would sell and who I was helping, all my biggest problems would disappear. But I was wrong.
Having freedom is a wonderful by-product of working for yourself, but once you have total freedom – choosing who you want to be, where you want to work, how you want to work, how you want to dress and express yourself, what you stand for – it can be really difficult to make decisions when you no longer follow the rules of an employer, your family, or society.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Corporate Quitter, a platform that originally started as a home to those who wanted to quit corporate, has evolved to support those looking to quit the conventional overall. In our world, quitters, or those who actively walk away from things that are no longer serving them, always win, and we have a plethora of resources to help them sustain it.
The Founder, Gabby Ianniello, is an award-winning podcast host, creator, and digital marketing freelancer. After 3 years in the business, she’s grown her platform to over 50k+ and has replaced her corporate salary through multiple streams of income, including, but not limited to, digital products, courses, group programs, 1-on-1 strategy sessions, brand partnerships, and creative freelance work.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out.
Trust yourself more. I spent SO much time and money seeking answers from peers and mentors, only to find out that they were just as lost or confused as I was. The reality is that no one knows what they’re doing, regardless of how ‘successful’ someone is perceived to be. Educating yourself is fantastic, but never take someone else’s advice and truth above your own.
