Today we’d like to introduce you to Haley Carter.
Hi Haley, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in Georgetown TX. Me being the youngest of three children(one older sister and one middle brother). My mother ran/owned an antique store on the square in Georgetown for almost 20 years. She taught us commitment, hard work and dedication will pay off.
My passion for pursuing something medical stemmed from my dad being ill most of my life. He was diagnosed with brain cancer when I was 2yrs old and from then on we forever had doctors and medical professionals in and out. That’s when I realized the importance of good doctors, caring staff and a supportive community. We were fortunate to have it all!
From the time I was young I worked hard at whatever I put my mind to, I felt like distractions were good and hard work paid off! It was a joke in my family that if someone in town was hiring I was applying. Growing up if we wanted something we paid for it. Nonetheless, I felt that my “never say No” attitude led me to where I’m at today!
I got married and had two beautiful children in my early twenties, however, I always knew that I would get back on track to pursuing my passion for something medical. In 2012, I moved to Dallas and started working with a multi-specialty marketing company “Doctor Referred”, I then knew I was on the right path. A couple of years later I took over a management position with this Dallas-based company and in 2016 was transferred to Austin/San Antonio to expand our footprint. I know the importance of representing the “best of the best” for patients and families therefore I decided to take the risk of opening up my own company Link Medical Marketing and represent those I’m most confident in.
My goal moving forward is to grow vicariously through each primary care and specialist connection, this model will benefit patients, families and practices.
While feeding my soul!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s never a smooth road. Juggling family and children while still trying to prove yourself every day can be exhausting.
I never want to fall short.
As you know, we’re big fans of Link Medical Marketing. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I started Link Medical Marketing to connect patients with good doctors! I “link” primary care physicians and specialists to ensure a smooth and efficient transition for patients. This service removes the burden of staff having to find and schedule appointments. Helps to better streamline urgent needs, place with the appropriate specialist, coordinate by insurance and schedule by location. Patients will not wait weeks for an appointment. Best of all this service is free of charge for Primary Care Physicians!
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
My “never say no” attitude made me an asset! Wearing many hats throughout life came in handy and my ability to be a “SPONGE” paid off. I didn’t come out of Covid a physician but I was close.
