Today we’d like to introduce you to Irina Gomez.
Hi Irina , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m a native Austinnite, born and raised in a city that’s always growing, evolving, and full of big ideas. Watching Austin grow over the years has been incredible. It’s transformed into a vibrant hub for entrepreneurs and people who are genuinely excited about shaping the future. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to start my journey.
My career kicked off in tech. I began at AMD, then made my way to Oracle, and later Apple—each step a new challenge, a new lesson. I was laser-focused on climbing the corporate ladder, and for a while, that was the dream. I never imagined I’d take a different path.
But life had other plans.
My family’s business was growing, and I found myself drawn in. At first, it was just helping out here and there in the evenings and on weekends—lending my skills where I thought I could add value. But pretty quickly, I realized I loved it. The scrappiness, the creativity, the constant learning—it lit me up in a way that was totally unexpected. I was hooked.
Eventually, I made a bold decision: I left Apple to dive fully into the entrepreneurial world by joining Kredo. The next few years were a whirlwind—full of growth, challenges, late nights, and a lot of learning (the kind you don’t get in any corporate training). But I was truly enjoying the ride.
That spark pushed me to take the next step in my journey and launch Ziler (www.zilersolutions.com)—an outsourcing company focused on helping organizations build their best teams nearshore. At Ziler, I get to combine everything I’ve learned from big tech and startup life to create something that truly makes a difference for our partners.
It’s been a fun, fulfilling ride—and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I’m still deeply rooted in Austin, a city that’s grown alongside me. And just like this city, I’m still building, still learning, and still dreaming big.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The entrepreneurial path is anything but predictable—and mine has definitely had its share of twists, turns, and bumps.
When I left the comfort and structure of the corporate world, I had a lot to learn. Suddenly, there was no playbook, clear roadmap, or established systems. I was building from scratch—learning as I went, making decisions with limited information, and wearing more hats than I ever thought possible. It was humbling. There were also moments of doubt. Times when things didn’t go as planned, or when the weight of responsibility felt overwhelming. But I kept going, because even in those tough moments, I knew we were building something meaningful—not just for us, but for the people we were partnering with and the teams we were growing.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Ziler?
At Ziler, we specialize in building high-impact nearshore teams that align with our partners’ goals, vision, and strategy. Our approach is hands-on and collaborative—we take the time to truly understand what success looks like for your business, then assemble a team tailored to support the initiatives that will drive your growth.
We know that entrepreneurs and business leaders often try to do it all, which can pull focus from what matters most. That’s where we come in. We take on the heavy lifting, so you can stay focused on your core business, knowing you have the right team behind you.
What sets us apart? We’re not just a service provider—we’re a true partner. We establish shared OKRs and success metrics to ensure we’re delivering real impact and measurable ROI, all while keeping costs low.
At Ziler, our mission is simple: build teams that accelerate growth and make a lasting difference in the organizations we serve.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Companies used to view outsourcing as a “plan B” when offshore solutions didn’t fit. That’s changing fast. As businesses increasingly prioritize speed, collaboration, and cultural alignment, nearshoring is becoming the go-to strategy for scaling teams—especially for startups and midsize companies. Latin America is emerging as the powerhouse for nearshoring—especially for North American companies. Strong tech talent, English proficiency, and time zone alignment make it incredibly competitive.
