Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacob Moody.
Hi Jacob, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in the Austin area. I have always had a connection with the outdoors and have spent a lot of time working in the garden as a child. I developed good work ethic and a beginners knowledge of horticulture. I went onto Texas State University to complete my degree in Horticulture and Business Management. Surrounded by my family and the rich Texas landscape, I began to develop my career in the landscape industry. I taught myself all aspects of the business by working every installation, maintenance property and irrigation system hands on. Through the process of building my business, I have developed a strong bond with my staff over the years and this company truly is an extension of my family. We are excited to offer our services to more individuals in the greater Austin area as we expand Moody’s Landscape & Design.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
No, there has been a lot of struggles as a young entrepreneur starting a business this day and age. Some of the struggles along the way include dramatic increases in material pricing and a constant struggle of keeping up with the history of undervalued and underpaid workers in the workforce in this particular field.
As you know, we’re big fans of Moody’s Landscape and Design LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Moody’s Landscape and Design is a locally owned and family-operated landscape company in the greater Austin area. We provide services such as landscape design, maintenance, installation, irrigation and drainage. We specialize in master planned digital designs with a unique and modern take on Central Texas landscapes. Our company can take your projects from start to finish as well as offering annual maintenance contracts which are just as customizable and inclusive as our designs. Moody’s Landscape and Design is able to differentiate ourselves from other company’s based on the personalized experience, level of customer service and attention to detail in every aspect of the business. Our brand was built on high retention rates of our loyal customers that love and respect what we do.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
John Moody, my father has been an invaluable asset to Moody’s Landscape and Design. Although I started the business on my own in my early twenties, my father has been a guiding factor in growing and planning the future of this business. We have been able to maintain private ownership and develop an effective and rewarding working relationship. This has resulted in major success within Moody’s Landscape and continues to offer opportunities for growth into the future. John quickly became a partner with Moody’s Landscape as he was able to see from the inside out the value of the services we offered to our customer base and the potential for growth. Also would like to give a big thanks to my employees for their extraordinary hard work these last few years. To my wife Gaby, you have been patient, uplifting and supportive through the highs and lows of this business and are as much a part of this company’s success as myself.
