Today we’d like to introduce you to Karly Noyola
Hi Karly, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I began my Esthetician career in Austin, where I was the youngest and least experienced esthetician at the time. Even though I was just starting out, I was surrounded by incredible, educated skin professionals who taught me a wealth of knowledge. Over the course of a few years, my hard work and dedication paid off, and I was offered the position of Lead Medical Esthetician at one of the South Austin locations.
While working in Austin, I always knew I wanted to have my own business one day, specifically a place where I could not only practice esthetics but also mentor and support other up-and-coming estheticians, just like I once was. Although I didn’t have a mentor at the time, the team around me was incredibly supportive, and I absorbed as much knowledge as I could.
Eventually, I decided to move closer to home and pursue my dream of opening my own studio. With zero experience in business ownership, I took a leap of faith and sought out the guidance of a business director. Little did I know, this person would become my most patient teacher, guiding me through the ins and outs of running a business and truly changing the course of my life.
Fast forward to now—I’m just a couple months shy of my 5-year anniversary of opening my own studio.
In those 5 years, I’ve been blessed to see my business thrive, despite the inevitable ups and downs. It hasn’t always been easy, but the growth, lessons, and the ability to give back to my community have made it all worth it.
Last year, I was humbled and honored to be featured on the cover of Healthy Living Magazine, a local publication. It’s moments like these that remind me just how far I’ve come and how grateful I am for the support along the way. As I look ahead, I’m committed to continuing my work, sharing my knowledge, and helping others build their dreams—just as others did for me.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Navigating the challenges of burnout while balancing the many roles of a small business owner—handling operations, growth, and leadership responsibilities—all while managing and supporting a team. Over all it has all been well worth it.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
With 12 years of experience as a lash artist and esthetician, I’ve built a reputation in my area for specializing in both advanced skin treatments and creating luxury lash extensions. I started my business from the ground up, with a deep passion for my craft and the support of a few amazing people who believed in me.
What I’m most proud of is building everything on my own, from the bottom up. It’s proof that with dedication, self-belief, and a clear vision, you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. I want others to see that no dream is too big and, with the right mindset, you can achieve everything you desire. I’ve also done a few mentorships to fellow Estheticians and hosted trainings to new Estheticians that wanted to learn from me which has been so rewarding to me. I’m so lucky to have such an amazing support system.
What does success mean to you?
Success can look different for everyone, but for me, it’s about staying true to myself and my career. I’m constantly striving to learn and grow, not just as an esthetician and business owner, but as a professional overall.
For me, success means doing the right thing, even when no one’s watching, and being there to help others whenever I can. It’s not about having it all or checking off a list of accomplishments—it’s about earning trust. When I hear someone say, “I trust you,” I know I’ve succeeded because I’ve always operated with honesty and integrity, both in my work and in my personal life.
Ultimately, success to me is being someone people look up to or turn to for advice, knowing they can rely on my character and expertise.
