Community Highlights: Meet Kyle Godbolt of WaiGees Rolling Papers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyle Godbolt.

Kyle, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Being an avid 420 member, I was wanted something of my own to roll. I knew I wanted to have a bigger part of this community and get people like myself a better paper product because I wasn’t too impressed with what was out and kept going back to cigarillos for the slower burn but I hated the taste. Once upon a time, I was talking to myself about wanting my own brand of rolling papers, a week later looking through my emails I see a message saying “start your own brand of papers!” At that very moment, all I could do was look around and furiously point at my phone saying “who do you work for!” Good things come to those who are patient but better things come to those who are actively working to improve. It’s been a short trip but there is a long road ahead of me but I can’t thank all of the stores who took my brand in and gave me a shot with the “Big Boys”. The name is derived from my stage name (rap) YounGod, WaiGees (YG’s) Rolling Papers #rollwitit be on the look for new music to drop from my label Stacks&Scales Productions.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Coming out with a new brand of any product will but hard without big investors, marketing (limited marketing for anything dealing with cannabis products) and a celebrity backing. Just doing the leg work going from store to store attempting to talk to managers to giving out booklets and cones for people to try. The most pushback I got was from a chain of stores that highly believes in supporting the local small businesses. Of course, we would love to start a brand or drop a new song or whatever you’re passionate about and the next day living that dream but the struggles are a part of the same dream of being successful. The hardest things in life will not come easy so we’ll continue to work harder. I love playing life on Legendary mode. Shout out to Smoke ATX, Happy Clouds, Abe’s smoke shop, Sol Smoke, The Smoking depot, Connoisseur Smoke, 34 Wines and Spirits, Green Mountian Flower, Turquoise Mountains CBD, Big Blast Fireworks, Flashpoint auto, The Zebra’s Shed in Denton, Texas, The Vapor Shop in Nacogdoches, Texas, JAG Boilers and Drippy smoke shop in Jacksonville, Florida!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I specialize in Hemp Rolling papers and cones. The taste and slow consistent burn set us apart from the rest; the vegan-friendly, GMO-free, nonbleached is a definite plus. The embossed logo is a difference in feel the papers the difference in taste, packaging and magnetic closure are an eye-catcher too you can stick it to your refrigerator, rolling tray and protect your papers while you’re on the move so you won’t lose or ruin your favorite new brand of papers! #rollwitit. You can find them at the stores stated or at WaiGees.com to place an order and use promo code YGBDAY32 for 32% off.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Not to give up no matter how hard it gets! We fall to get back up!
