Hi Lisa-Marie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?

I began my journey in real estate and property management in 1999, working with several brokerages and managing apartment communities. Over the years, I’ve faced my share of challenges — balancing a career while being a single mother and navigating failed marriages. Each experience taught me resilience and fueled my determination to create something lasting.
In 2021, with the encouragement and unwavering support of my husband, Guy, — whom I married in 2000 — I took a leap of faith and opened my own full-service brokerage, MCG Homestead Rentals and Sales. I couldn’t have done it without his belief in me.
My greatest supporters are my children—Erin, Devin, and Kaidin. My bonus children—Jesse, Justin, Alex, and Alyssa—also encourage me to keep striving for success.
I cherish every opportunity to make my father, Scott, and Step-Mom, Sharon, proud that I am their daughter. Nothing makes me happier than making my dad smile, and I’ll keep working hard to give him reasons to be proud of me.
As of 2022, my office stands as a tribute to my late grandparents, Pete and Beverly, whose pride in my achievements and belief in hard work continue to inspire me every day.
Education has always been a cornerstone of my professional growth. Not only am I a Real Estate Broker, I hold an Associate of Applied Science in Business Management with a Real Estate specialization, and I’m a Certified Apartment Manager (CAM). I also hold several industry designations, including Seller Representative Specialist (SRS), Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR), and Short Sales and Foreclosure Specialist (SFR). In addition, I’ve earned multiple certifications in areas such as Fair Housing training, which keeps our company aligned with best practices and ethical standards in the industry.
I am very humbled with receiving several awards that I am proud of. I am a three-time recipient of the Property Manager of the Year award (2018, 2020, 2023), a Texas Apartment Association (TAA) Delegate, and a 2020 graduate of the TAA Leadership Lyceum.
At MCG Homestead Rentals and Sales, we specialize in second-chance leasing, helping tenants who may not have perfect credit find quality housing. We also report to credit bureaus to help our residents rebuild credit and work toward the ultimate goal of homeownership.
I’m incredibly proud of my team — they are the foundation of our success. My assistant manager, Anja Cato, is truly my right hand and my rock. My maintenance coordinator and inspector, Devin Kelly, who is also my oldest son, leads our maintenance department with dedication and pride.
One of my greatest motivations has always been to build something meaningful — a legacy for my children and a company they can be proud of.
Beyond running the business, I’m deeply involved in our local apartment associations and am honored to be installed as President of the Apartment Association of Central Texas in December 2025. Looking ahead, we plan to continue growing and serving the Central Texas community with integrity, professionalism, and care — meeting every resident’s rental and real estate needs with a personal touch.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Balancing life as a mother, wife, and business owner is a daily lesson in patience, priorities, and perseverance.”
