Community Highlights: Meet Matt Gibson of G3 Recovery Interventions and Consulting

Today we’d like to introduce you to Matt Gibson.

Hi Matt, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I grew up in a loving Cuban and Mexican family in Dallas, but in high school I drifted into partying, which eventually led to a ten-year battle with opiate addiction and homelessness. In June 2017, I found recovery and everything changed.

Since then, my passion has been helping others find the same freedom. In 2018, I started working in treatment centers in Austin, mentoring and leading people through early recovery. In 2022, my wife and I opened our first sober living home shortly after welcoming our daughter and a second one the following year. Our homes are safe, community-driven spaces where people can rebuild their lives with structure and support.

Along the way, I realized that real healing happens when families are part of the process. That inspired me to start doing interventions, family consulting, sober transports, and recovery coaching. I’m driven every day by the belief that recovery isn’t just about getting sober, it’s about restoring connection, hope, and purpose.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There’s been a huge learning curve when it comes to growing and marketing our sober living homes and my consulting work. Most of what I’ve built started through word of mouth, so figuring out how to expand without losing the personal, heart-driven nature of what I do has taken time.

With that said, every struggle has taught me how to slow down and stay grounded, while balancing my business and family life. Recovery gave me a second chance at life, and the challenges that come with building this life are ones I’m incredibly grateful to have.
