Today we’d like to introduce you to Milton Antony.
Hi Milton, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, let’s briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Hey there! I’m Milton, and I’d love to share my story with you. My journey has been anything but ordinary, and it all started when I was a first-generation immigrant from India. I moved from India to Nigeria and eventually settled in the United States. These experiences exposed me to diverse cultures and made me realize that success could mean different things to different people.
I decided to drop out of school at 17 to forge my path. I became fascinated with understanding the criteria for success in different cultures and exploring how data and automation could help redefine these systems. Empowering people to align with their natural talents and passions would improve society.
My passion for rethinking traditional systems and empowering underrepresented voices led me to co-found SalesLabX. We made diversity and inclusion a foundational pillar for the organization, organically leading to over 70% of leadership roles being filled by people of color and women. This focus on diverse perspectives has helped drive our innovation and growth.
I also recognized the importance of involving those most impacted by the systems we create, so we gave them a seat at the table. By doing this, SalesLabX has fostered a culture where innovation is fueled by the actual users of our systems, allowing our organization to grow and adapt in response to their needs.
Our unique approach to innovation has helped SalesLabX achieve rapid growth, reaching a 9-figure valuation with zero debt and no outside investors. This success is due to our commitment to embracing diverse perspectives and user-driven innovation. It’s a testament to the power of inclusion and the potential for a more inclusive and diverse world. So, that’s my story in a nutshell! I’ve come a long way since I started this journey, and I’m grateful for the experiences and the people I’ve met. I’m excited to continue challenging the status quo and working towards a better society where people can align with their natural talents and passions while empowering underrepresented voices.
Please talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned. Looking back, has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has sometimes been rocky. I’ve faced my fair share of challenges, but those struggles have shaped me into who I am today and made SalesLabX successful.
One of my first struggles was dropping out of school at 17. Going against conventional expectations was challenging, but I knew I needed to follow my path. It was a difficult decision, and it took courage to face the uncertainty that came with it.
Another significant challenge I faced during my journey was becoming a parent at the young age of 19. Having a child while trying to forge my path and redefine success was a tremendous responsibility. Balancing my personal life and my aspirations as a creator was no easy task, and it brought a whole new dimension to my life.
Being a young parent forced me to grow up quickly and prioritize my responsibilities. I had to find a way to support my child while chasing my dreams and working towards creating SalesLabX. This experience taught me the importance of time management, patience, and resilience.
The birth of my child also deepened my passion for building a better society. I wanted my child to grow up in a world that valued diverse perspectives and empowered underrepresented voices. I became even more determined to create an environment where people could align with their natural talents and passions.
Learning and appreciating the nuances of each culture I encountered took time and patience. Navigating the different cultural perspectives and understanding the varying definitions of success across other societies was also challenging. I had to be open to new ideas and perspectives to grow personally and professionally.
As a co-founder, building SalesLabX from the ground up came with its struggles. Finding the right people to join our team and share our vision for diversity and inclusion was challenging. We needed individuals with the right skill sets and the passion for empowering underrepresented voices.
Another struggle was balancing growth and innovation while staying true to our core values. We had to maintain our focus on user-driven innovation, diversity, and inclusion even as our organization expanded rapidly.
While the road hasn’t always been smooth, it has been a rewarding and transformative journey. Despite these challenges, overcoming adversity has made SalesLabX and me more assertive. Our struggles have reinforced the importance of staying true to our vision and believing in the power of diverse perspectives.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Absolutely! The Covid-19 crisis has been a challenging time for everyone, and I’ve learned several important lessons that have shaped my perspective as a leader and an individual.
Adaptability: The pandemic taught me the importance of adaptability at work and in life. The world changed rapidly, and we had to pivot quickly to adjust to new ways of working, communicating, and living. Embracing change and being flexible allowed SalesLabX to navigate the crisis and continue to thrive.
The power of technology: The Covid-19 crisis highlighted the essential role of technology in keeping us connected and productive. As an organization focused on leveraging automation and data, we saw firsthand the impact technology could have on helping organizations adapt and grow during uncertain times.
Empathy and compassion: The pandemic reminded me of the importance of empathy and compassion for our team members, subscribers, and community. Everyone faced unique challenges during this time, and it was crucial to acknowledge and support each other in any way possible.
Prioritizing mental health and well-being: The crisis emphasized the importance of mental health and well-being. It became clear that supporting our team members’ mental health was as important as their physical health. At SalesLabX, we implemented a mental health stipend as part of our benefits package for every team member, ensuring they have access to therapy and other mental health resources. This initiative is a testament to our commitment to prioritizing team member well-being.
Embracing remote work: SalesLabX has always been a remote-first organization, which was a valuable advantage during the pandemic. The crisis reinforced the importance of providing a flexible work environment and empowering our team to collaborate effectively from different locations. This approach has allowed us to attract diverse talent and maintain a strong culture despite adversity.
Resilience: The Covid-19 crisis tested our organizational and individual resilience. I learned that facing adversity head-on and staying committed to our mission and values was key to overcoming obstacles and emerging stronger.
The value of human connection: Despite the increased reliance on technology, the pandemic underscored the importance of human connection. It reminded me that at the core of everything we do is connecting with people and building meaningful relationships.
These lessons have been invaluable in shaping my approach to leadership and growth; they will continue to influence how we operate at SalesLabX.
