Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Smith.
Hi Sarah, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
From a young age, I knew that I wanted to help people.
It wasn’t until I was much older that I realized becoming a massage therapist is how I would do it. I went to school for massage and then started my career.
I began in the industry doing acupressure at a little place in New Braunfels. I met so many people who were hurting and I was able to help with their pain.
A year later, I was ready to start working towards building my own clientele. I wanted to offer massage in the comfort of home.
Meanwhile, my husband and I made our move to Round Rock. After getting settled, I created a name for my business, Traveling Massage For Her.
I started growing my Facebook page and networking with other women in the Austin area.
I knew I wanted to help other moms like me. I wanted to help the women who are constantly putting themselves last.
While building my business, I also worked at a chiropractic office in Georgetown and a spa in Pflugerville. I stayed busy and loved what I did.
Then one day, I met a mobile chiropractor. She changed everything for me. She gave me the confidence that I needed. She told me that there was a need for me. I just needed to get my name out there.
I started posting in groups like she suggested and after some referrals, my business started growing. A couple of months later, I was able to quit the chiropractic office, another month later I quit the spa. I was fully on my own. I had my own clients that I could regularly help.
Fast forward to now, my business has grown so much more. I have met countless amazing women and I am so thankful.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have been really lucky in the fact that Covid didn’t hurt my business. I believe people felt more safe with me traveling to their home. They didn’t have to go out and that worked out wonderfully.
We’ve been impressed with Traveling Massage For Her, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I live in Hutto but travel to all of the surrounding Austin areas. I offer Swedish, Deep Tissue and Prenatal massage.
I do couples back to back massages and group massages.
My clients are primarily women.
