Today we’d like to introduce you to Steph Orosco.
Hi Steph, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hi! So nice to meet you. I definitely didn’t have big dreams of becoming a successful online entrepreneur. Truthfully, I spent most of my life not knowing what I wanted to do or who I wanted to be. I knew that I wanted to help people, but I never knew quite how that looked.
Once we gained the ability to live anywhere we want, we relocated from San Antonio to Austin (& couldn’t love this city more!) and we still run our OBM business from home. I’m also now a Virtual Assistant Coach & Mentor who teaches clients how to ditch their 9-5s for good and make more while living more so they can create freedom and flexibility for themselves. I’m super passionate about helping them build businesses that support their lives (not the other way around) and make amazing money in the process.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely! I wouldn’t say it’s been easy or smooth – it’s been a wild ride, but it’s been so worth it. The reason I’m so passionate about helping women build their businesses with balance is because that’s NOT what I did initially. A couple of years in as an entrepreneur, I was drowning in client work and couldn’t keep my head above water. I was so busy trading my time for money as a Virtual Assistant that I felt like I couldn’t have a life if I wanted to have a successful business.
Sam and I were working around the clock in the business and feeling like working non-stop was the ONLY way to keep bringing in good money.
This idea that you have to work more to make more is something that’s ingrained in a lot of our brains from society and the corporate world, and I bought into that for a long time.
But I no longer buy into that idea one single bit. When I finally decided I was fed up with being at max capacity and burning myself out, I found another way to run my business that led to freedom, flexibility, and fulfillment.
We’ve been impressed with Scaling with Heart, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m a Virtual Assistant Coach & Mentor, and I help incredible humans leave their shitty, unaligned corporate jobs for good in favor of freedom and flexibility, make MORE working part-time from the comfort of their couch, and do it all with balance so they have time to spend a day with their kiddos at the park or hit that midday yoga class whenever they please.
I believe that starting a virtual support business is, hands down, the quickest, easiest, and most sustainable way to make money online, and I’m the best person to help them create the life and business of their dreams as a VA because I’ve done it myself.
I’ve learned and grown through my own trial and error, figured out what actually works when it comes to growing and scaling a done-for-you business, and built a 6-figure, booked-out Virtual Assistant + Online Business Management biz with a team of eight and new leads flowing in each and every week. And I love helping others do the same!
The waitlist is currently open for my course: Live More, Make More as a VA. It’s my signature program, and I created it to help you build a profitable Virtual Assistant business you love while working part-time from your sofa – in just 6 weeks.
I know what you need to do to build your VA business with sustainability and balance in mind and create recurring income you can count on (without working around the clock!).
The course is your blueprint for ditching your 9-5, more than replacing your income, and being a full human outside of work.
I believe that you get to have both – a Virtual Assistant business that makes BIG $$$ AND a life you love (with the time to enjoy both). This industry sometimes romanticizes hustling your way to the top and working 24/7 in order to hit your goals, but you won’t find that here!
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lessons I’ve learned along the way are that you get to have it all, and you get to do it your way. You can trust yourself to go against the grain and create something better than you even could’ve imagined for yourself. You’re capable of so much more than you know, and it won’t be long before those who may be judging you for starting are asking how you did it.
