Hi Stephanie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
About five years ago we started redoing our kitchen and we could not decide on countertops. My brother had done concrete countertops about ten years prior so I started researching and experimenting. I started watching a bunch of videos and reading, even buying books on how to make concrete countertops. After several failed attempts I finally had made some progress. Remember I have had no training or help so what I thought was good with a blue bag of concrete countertop mix from Lowes was not so good after all. Ive come to realize this now after four years of pulling my hair out and feeling defeated. I came across the Concrete Countertop Institute website for a five day hands on class. So the wife and I booked the class for myself and we flew up to NC. That was two years ago. We have been trying to get the word out about how pretty concrete can be.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not! The challenges of starting a business are crazy let alone a business that a lot of people know nothing about. Getting the word out and trying to educate folks on how concrete can be beautiful and aesthetically appealing.
