My journey started in a small Texas town, driven by a fascination with technology and a love for creativity. I pursued computer science, quickly discovering my passion for web design and digital marketing. In 2003, I founded GLIDE with a vision to lead in web design focused on ROI. After a decade of building websites and a loyal client base, I realized there was more to business. Inspired by Simon Sinek’s “Start With Why,” I sought a deeper purpose: to spend time with people I care about and help others. This led to GLIDE’s mission to “help people who help others.” We began supporting nonprofits, beloved brands, and mission-driven startups, aiming to build beautiful websites and amplify meaningful work. Our core values shape our company culture by building meaningful relationships, loving what we do, improving daily, delivering faithfully, and enjoying the journey. Would it have been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Embracing failure with gratitude, when Andy joined GLIDE, it felt like winning the lottery. As a talented UX designer with agency experience, he was exactly what we needed. Leaving a more prominent agency due to burnout, Andy was hesitant but soon reignited his passion through our collaboration. His leadership propelled GLIDE to new heights, and our projects flourished. Then, Andy received an offer from a prestigious agency. It felt like losing the lottery ticket. Faced with a crucial decision, I chose gratitude over bitterness, supporting Andy’s move. This not only preserved our relationship but also reinforced my commitment to positivity. Andy later credited my support for his successful transition. This experience taught me that embracing failure with gratitude opens doors to new opportunities. It reshaped my approach to setbacks, viewing them as stepping stones to future success. This mindset has helped me find and foster new talent, leading to a long-term collaboration with another designer for over 15 years. The journey with Andy highlighted that our responses to challenges define our path more than the challenges themselves. By choosing gratitude and optimism, we can transform potential losses into valuable lessons that propel us forward, shaping GLIDE’s leadership and approach to successes and failures.

What makes you happy?
Happiness for me comes from several sources that are deeply intertwined with my values and purpose. First and foremost, my wife of 15 years and our four wonderful children—two girls and two boys, aged 13, 11, 8, and 3—bring immense joy and fulfillment to my life. Their love and energy are a constant source of inspiration. My faith is another cornerstone of my happiness, guiding me to live for something greater than myself. It gives me a sense of purpose and direction, reminding me daily of the importance of compassion and service. I am also incredibly grateful for my friends, who continually support and encourage me. Their presence in my life is a source of strength and positivity, lifting me through all of life’s challenges. Professionally, I am fortunate to have a career that aligns with my passions and talents. Being able to do meaningful work that makes a difference, on my terms, is profoundly satisfying.
