Today we’d like to introduce you to Aisha Reese
Aisha, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hey there, my name is Aisha, and I’m the owner of Chaotic Fix, created in 2017.
I’ve always been a lover of the arts, music, beauty, and retail. My passion for creativity and aesthetics played a big role in shaping my business today.
Chaotic Fix started with sugar scrubs—just for me. After having my youngest son in 2015, I struggled with adult acne, hyperpigmentation, and Keratosis Pilaris (aka “chicken skin”)—a harmless condition that causes tiny, rough bumps due to keratin buildup clogging the hair follicles. While being a stay-at-home mom, I dove into researching gut health, acne, clean eating, and topical ingredients. That’s when I began making my own body scrubs to gently exfoliate dead skin cells and improve my skin’s texture. When I saw real results, I knew I had to share them—especially with women of color who might face the same struggles.
What began as gifts for family and friends soon turned into something bigger. I found joy in perfecting formulas, choosing ribbons for jars, and imagining how my products could bring someone joy. Life goes on and my youngest is now close to 2, I took on a part-time role as a merchandising manager for a clothing boutique—a fun way to stay connected to things I love while balancing motherhood. During that time, I landed on the name Chaotic Fix—because we all have a little crazy in our lives, and self-care is the best reset. My collection became the “fix”: light a candle, soak to relax, and scrub away the negatives (gently, of course).
In 2021, I took my passion further by studying Esthetics and opening my own studio, offering custom facials and waxing part-time. But as life evolved—preparing for my daughter to start college while my middle son was right behind her—I made the decision to close my studio and step into the corporate world full time. Though the shift was necessary, I remained committed to Chaotic Fix, refocusing my energy on growing but as a product-based business.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. Starting out as a business owner, there’s so much to consider—figuring out your target audience, pricing, branding, and marketing. But if I had to pinpoint my biggest struggle, it would be marketing.
I love taking product photos and writing detailed descriptions, but with social media’s ever-changing algorithms, sometimes my posts wouldn’t even reach my audience. Staying consistent and not falling into the trap of comparison was a challenge, too. It’s easy to look at other brands and feel like you’re not doing enough, but I’ve learned to focus on my own journey and celebrate every small win along the way.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
First, I’m most proud of being a mother. My crew—I have two smart young adults navigating college and work balance and a bright, artistic 10-year-old—all keep me on my toes! Whew! Motherhood itself is a full-time role, and they are my greatest motivation for pushing forward.
As for my business, I’m proud of how far I’ve come. There were times I needed to pause, but I always found my way back, remembering my ‘why.’ Chaotic Fix was placed on my heart for a reason—it’s not just about selling products, but about creating experiences that help women find balance, no matter what they’re ‘growing’ through.
I specialize in curating beauty and wellness experiences that remind women to prioritize themselves, whether through handcrafted bath and body essentials, lifestyle accessories, or digital self-care tools, my goal is to create intentional moments of rest and renewal.
What sets me apart is my creativity and ability to think outside the box when curating the perfect package—when I’m putting the pieces together, I ask myself, “How will this impact someone?” As I’ve grown in my own healing journey, I’ve learned to incorporate my faith into everything I do. My products may offer a temporary fix, but my faith is the constant reminder that trouble doesn’t last always.
Above all, I want every woman to feel a sense of hope. Tomorrow is a new day—a chance to start fresh. The dishes can wait, the laundry will get folded, and the deadlines will be met. But before the mayhem takes over, let’s put you first!
Who else deserves credit in your story?
My biggest cheerleaders and mentors have been my family, close friends, and a few colleagues. Collectively, they’ve encouraged me through every aspect of my life—personal, professional, and business-related.
Beyond them, my faith in Jesus and therapy have been my greatest sources of strength. When I can’t turn to others for advice, these two keep me grounded, helping me navigate the ups and downs of life with clarity and resilience.
