Hi Angelica, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is Angelica, and I am a licensed esthetician and the proud owner of Angelic Beauty Bar. I began my journey in the beauty industry in 2020, during the uncertainty of the COVID shutdown—a time that challenged me but also shaped my resilience and passion for this craft. What started as a leap of faith quickly grew into a calling.
I’ve had the privilege of gaining hands-on experience in some of Austin’s finest salons, where I honed my skills in skincare, eyelash extensions, brow shaping, and waxing. Each experience taught me not only technique, but the importance of truly listening to clients and caring for them beyond the surface.
With a deep love for beauty and wellness, I eventually felt called to create something of my own. Opening Angelic Beauty Bar in the heart of Austin, TX has been one of my proudest accomplishments. My studio was built on intention, trust, and the belief that self-care is essential—not a luxury.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Opening a beauty salon during the COVID shutdown came with challenges I never could have imagined. With closures, uncertainty, and constantly changing regulations, there were moments filled with doubt, financial strain, and fear of the unknown. Building a business without the ability to serve clients consistently required patience, faith, and resilience.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Being an esthetician is about so much more than eyelashes, eyebrows, and skin. It is a deeply personal and artistic craft that blends creativity with connection. Each service is an opportunity to enhance natural beauty while understanding the individuality of every client—their features, their confidence, and their story. For me, esthetics is an art form rooted in trust, intention, and self-expression, where creativity meets care and every detail is thoughtfully designed to make someone feel seen, empowered, and beautiful.
How do you think about luck?
I consider myself incredibly lucky for the people I’ve crossed paths with throughout my journey. The mentors, colleagues, and creatives I’ve learned from have shaped not only my skills, but my vision. Being surrounded by individuals who share the same creative mindset and passion for excellence has pushed me to grow, refine my craft, and think beyond limitations.
