Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Brand.
Hi Anna, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
In 1995, Marco Moyano (my father) started his own natural herbal company in the US after leaving his home country of Mexico in the 80’s. Evergreen Herbs has continued a family business and we’ve imported/exported herbs, spices and natural products for the past 26 years. A few years ago, my dad and I collaborated to create an all-natural mix of six ingredients that we were already taking on a daily basis. With my athletic background in gymnastics, going pro in fitness, running marathons and practicing yoga daily, I saw an opportunity to create a mix to fuel my body. It was common for me to get questions about my diet and how I maintained a healthy lifestyle. I wanted to blend all of these antioxidants, fiber and vitamins into one powder. I thought, how difficult could this be!? After taking this mix for years, I started sharing it with friends and family. Who doesn’t want better digestion, skin, metabolism and increased energy?!? One conversation led to another and in February of 2016, I combined my dad’s expertise and an idea to finally release a finished product with my very own label called Complete Cleanse. After launching Complete Cleanse, I began incorporating other products into my daily regimen. I began selling a number of products at the local Barton Creek Farmer’s Market in Austin, TX in November of 2017. After selling at the Farmer’s Market for a few months and getting feedback from local Austinites, I wanted to share this with more than my fellow Texans. I’m excited that I now offer my full supplement line, Hola Natural Supplements, as of February of 2019.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Quite the opposite. I left a great tech sales job to pursue my supplement business. Many questioned why I would leave a great tech job to live off my savings and launch an herbal supplement line. I knew that I could always go back to the tech industry, but I wouldn’t always be able to take a risk and launch my own business. I started at the Farmer’s Market with one product and quickly realized that it was not for everyone. I received feedback and requests from local Austinites and launched a full line of 13 products that help with a variety of things. I reached out to supplement stores and local convenient stores to try and get my brand recognition out there. Most rejected me since I wasn’t a big supplement name. Via social media, I’ve been able to reach customers all over the country.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
During the week, I lead a sales district for one of the top tech global companies and travel on domestic/international flights frequently. With my rigorous travel schedule, it’s critical to stay healthy on the road. These supplements are just part of my daily routine. My goal is to help others live a healthier lifestyles. The meaning of a healthy lifestyle for me encompasses your mental health, physical wellness and self-love. I’ve had and still have many mentors that have helped me personally and professionally grow, develop and succeed. I’m proud that I have the opportunity to pay it forward. I recently went on a missionary trip to El Salvador with a local Austin church, Riverbend. We were able to work with college and middle school students. I’m extremely passionate about helping my current district develop, connect with other leaders and reach their full potential. I wake up every day with gratitude and choose happiness. When we become the best version of ourselves, we show up for others in the best way possible.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Having a growth mindset. When you wake up daily committed to a growth mindset, you will continue to learn and grow. We are forever students of life. What is meant for you is showing up.
