Hi Cassidy, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
From a young age, baking has been more than just a hobby for me; it’s a deep-rooted passion that began in my childhood. My father played an instrumental role in nurturing that passion. He wasn’t just my dad; he was my best friend. I cherished every moment spent in the kitchen, whipping up his favorite treats for birthdays, anniversaries, and even just because moments. Those surprises brought us both joy and created lasting memories.
When my father passed away in 2018 from brain cancer, I turned to baking as a way to feel connected to him. It became a comforting ritual, honoring his memory through the craft we both loved. For years, I baked purely for the joy of it, but more recently, I discovered a new drive: the desire to transform my passion into a business.
With my father being a former sweet tooth connoisseur and entrepreneur, I often feel that pursuing this dream would make him proud. During my third pregnancy, around 20 weeks along, the urge to start baking professionally surged within me. I decided to take a leap of faith and began promoting my creations within my community.
My goal is to become the go-to source for all things cake and cupcakes in my area. While I am just at the beginning of this exciting journey, I have a vision for the future—I can see myself opening a bakery in the not-too-distant horizon!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Starting a business is rarely a straightforward journey (especially while juggling 3 little ones). Determining who your target audience is can often prove challenging. It takes immense dedication and courage to promote your work and establish your brand, especially when you’re aware of the risks involved, including the possibility of failure. However, I constantly remind myself that while failure is a possibility, so too is the potential for great success!

In the world of baking, I have carved out a niche for myself in crafting exquisite cakes and cupcakes. My creations are celebrated not just for their delightful flavors but also for the commitment to using fresh, high-quality ingredients combined with a genuine passion for the art of baking. What truly sets me apart from other bakers is the meticulous care I invest in every single item I create. I believe that going the extra mile for my customers is essential, and I take great pride in delivering an exceptional experience. Every bite is a testament to the love and dedication that goes into my work, and I guarantee that my customers will savor the difference every time they choose my bakery.
What matters most to you? Why?
Family holds the utmost importance in my life. The passing of my father significantly reshaped my perspective, prompting me to reassess what I truly wanted for my future. Each morning, I wake up filled with gratitude for the wonderful family I have created. With three young children who look up to me, I strive every day to exemplify the belief that with determination, anything is possible. I want them to understand that their dreams are within reach if they are willing to work for them.
