Today we’d like to introduce you to Christianna Bettis.
Hi Christianna, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
It is such an honor to be interviewed! Thank you so much for this opportunity. Where do I begin? Let me take you on a little journey. I’ve always loved photography and creating. My little sister and I would do little photo shoots on a regular digital camera. As I grew up, it was a little hobby, a way for me to express myself and get creative. In college, I had a dslr camera and my friends at the time taught me almost everything I know! Those friends are now producers and videographers on shows and amazing photographers. In college, I became the photographer for the dancers. After college, I got married and put photography to the side. When my son was born, I started to pick up my camera again and invested in more gear. I wanted to capture all the little details. It reminded me how much I love to capture moments in life. Like they say, “you only live once.” Well, in life, a moment sometimes only happens once.
A child will only be a child for so long, soon enough they’re grown and no longer that adorable little toddler or baby. What better way to remember those precious times and moments than in a photograph. I don’t want to forget those moments in life, I want to be able to look back and remember. And for me, I remember with photos. I want others to remember their little moments in life too and I love capturing those moments. It’s been four years since I’ve really gotten serious about my photography business and I think I am more in love with capturing those moments now than when I ever picked up a digital camera. My passion is capturing moments in life and making people remember those moments and enjoy capturing those moments. I always leave a session feeling revived and so excited to edit the photos and get them back to the client. I try to make the process easy and smooth for my clients. From the booking process to even poses! I try to make sessions fun and enjoyable. From capturing newborns to maternity to couple sessions, and weddings, every session can be fun!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been a smooth road for me. Trying to figure out the whole business aspect and a workflow has been a process for me. I’m still learning, but I’m so hopeful and excited for what the future holds.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a photographer and a mom of two, I love capturing families, newborns, milestones in people’s lives, and love! Milestones can be smash cakes, birthdays, or something that is a milestone in one’s life. For me, I want to try to capture a person for who they are, not necessarily posed, but those candid, real laugh moments, I love capturing that.
What makes you happy?
What makes me happy is my family and capturing others. Like I said before, I always leave a photo session revived and genuinely happy.
