Today we’d like to introduce you to Cinthya Aguilar.
Hi Cinthya, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Viva Lunita started as a calligraphy business, mainly focused on stationery for weddings, and then transitioned into a creative studio dedicated to creating thoughtful brand identity designs for feminine businesses. Inspired by all the happy vibes, organic textures, a little bit of a retro aesthetic, and a modern lettering style, my designs are tailored for creative women who love embracing their personality and have an eye for a feminine and airy style.
Even tho I was born with a creative heart, my journey as a designer officially started back in 2016 after I moved to Austin, Tx, from Cd. Juárez, Chihuahua, México.
Fast forward to almost ten years after I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Business & Marketing; I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a graphic designer. Without a doubt, that was the best decision I could have ever made!
I believe that joy comes from the little things in life, and I love bringing good vibes and good energy to everything I do!
Design is my passion, and being able to spend my days doing what I love is everything I could’ve ever wanted. I truly put my heart and soul into all my design projects!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not! Hahaha, Viva Lunita has always been my side hustle, so keeping this dream of mine going has cost me a lot. Mostly my time, since all my evenings and weekends are dedicated to my business, so I’m always busy either working my full-time job or working on my business. There was a point in my life where I was a part-time student, had a full-time job, and also managed my side business, so the road has always been rough!
After my graduation last year, I’ve definitely had more time to focus on Viva Lunita and some time to relax as well, but I still need to figure out a way to transition my side hustle into my full-time job.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in brand design for small businesses, I’m known for my creative approach, my lettering style, and my super organized process! I’m very proud of how far I’ve come in so little time.
What sets me apart from others is definitely my process, as it is very easy to follow, to the point (no fluff), organized, and fast!
What were you like growing up?
I’ve always been drawn to art, painting, drawing, coloring. I was the biggest “Art Attack” fan, hahaha. Ever since I remember, I’ve loved being creative, and also I’m a little hyper. I was the kind of kid that if I was asleep in the afternoon, it meant that I was probably sick or something.
Personality-wise when I was in school, I always got into trouble for talking too much, haha I guess I’ve always been very friendly and outgoing.
