Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
I had brought a large shredder for my mortgage office. When that shut down, I put the shredder in storage, and all of a sudden, I noticed on our community bulletin people were asking about shredding services. I commented that I have a shredder and would be happy to help. Next thing you know, I am searching for a larger space to house my business. After many disappointments, I found the perfect location in Oct 2022 where Cedar Park, Leander, and Jonestown meet.
Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
It has not been smooth, but I have not had a bumpy ride either. The biggest challenge was finding space to accommodate the needs of the business, the lobby, workroom/office, and warehouse in one. Also, the “Spring of free” slowed sown the process—many schools, banks, and HOAs offer free shred days in the springtime.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a licensed loan originator with over 25 years in that field. Grateful Shred, LLC specializes in residential shredding services. People are cleaning out after losing a parent/loved one or downsizing. Residents who work from home, kids going to college or back to school, and those who are retiring. I am most proud of offering security, quality, and affordability. We offer more than shredding; we also offer CD/DVD and HDD (hard drive) destruction. With secure shredding starting at just $0.99 per pound, we can do the job for you-residential and commercial.
